How To Handle Temporary Pages - SEO

Hello,

I have a website whereby I list events. I want to know what the best practice is in terms of SEO.

1. Given that the events are on the website for a limited time, should I just noindex them?
2. Once the event has taken place, should I delete the page and set up a 301 redirect? Or keep the page on the website?

Thanks
Tommy

You are not going to be penalized for having pages on your site about past events. You could create an archives section if it bothers you and toss them all in there or, if you think they will compete in the SERPs with a current event, 301 the old page to the new one.
