Merged three micro sites into one, traffic and rank crashed for one of the micro site topics. Why?

To reiterate, our team did a site merge and moved a few micro sites into one large site. Most categories and products from the micro sites are doing well on the new site, however one site that was merged over has lost tons of rank for its main keyword terms and has not recovered going on over two months.

Any ideas what we could have missed?
Any ideas for how to regain this rank that we once had with the micro site?
