I wonder if a lot of those popular keyword searches are competitors checking their ads or keywords.

If you have a good product and an ad that promotes the biggest benefits of the product then you should get some decent traffic.

Give them lots of 'eye candy'. Interesting articles, with interesting titles. Interesting infographics or images. Make them want to keep looking through your site. Try to instill respect and confidence in you. They may then click on the ads or links that look appealing, that you recommend.

    That's the ideal.

This is something I look at very closely.... all of the PRE SEO Keyword indentification is taken from tools and just coming up with words - In one breathe we say this is what you are supposed to do, and in the next we say Google Adwords has nothing to do with search. Once the site is live tho, you do have a list of words that people are searching for ( REAL DATA )

There are a few things you can do.. if you see a term that is ranked on page 8 and getting 50 impressions... you can goto the page they are landing on and optimize it more specifically for that term. OR, you can create a new piece of content targetting that term.

Make sure you have proper onpage SEO linking to these pages, and just double check that the SEO elements are all there and "right"
