The strategies in 2018 are exactly the same as 2017 which were exactly the same as 2016. Build a great site that users love; get backlinks; pay for advertising; increase your social presence.

Start treating it like a business instead of a hobby. Businesses cost money to run. Most things that are free are worth what you paid for them.

Ugh... here we go again.

As soon as the calendar changes to January 1st, you need to forget everything you were doing before. It all magically stops working.

The answer for 1-8 is what Dave said: in 2018 or 4018 (if the machines have not taken over) create helpful content four your targeted audience, and you will do OK.

You will not do OK if you:

1 - look for new strategies when old, proven strategies work best
2 - try to increase traffic without investing a cent (this will never work when you have skilled online marketers who pay in both money and time to lap circles around you, traffic-wise)
3 - try to succeed without paying money for tools....

There is no special changes for 2018, same as 2017. Following updated technique is good but don't forget the older method. Some techniques are always important:

#1 Create GREAT content

Write for people first & SEO second. So figure out what your niche is start creating great content. Do some keyword research and find out what people are looking for in your niche and write about that.

SEO can be a great traffic source, but it will take time.

Oh, also make sure you have a way to caputure viewers email address and/or have a way to monetize your blog.

listen guys, seo as far as google is concerned will be no different from one year to the next. google expects you to build a great site, conduct good on-page seo practices, and build excellent, non-spammy backlinks.

then you should never have to worry about which direction will

Those that are deeply concerned about SEO probably are not building the best sites, then they follow one scheme to the next, and these are the

Yes, it sounds easy, but it is harder then one thinks....
google does not giveaway free money anymore, you actually
have to earn it, and work hard for it, and it will take time,
do not expect much to happen within the 1-2 years of life...
(it does happen, but it rarely happens these days....)

There are loads of ways to get free traffic.

But it all begins with you thinking strategically about things. You don't want just any traffic, you want traffic that converts into sales or clicks on your banners, or whatever.

The first thing you need to do is figure out how much traffic do you need to make $100. Seriously, you need to do this and the amount of traffic varies tremendously by niche. In some niches you need 10 visitors to make $100. In other niches you may need 10,000,000 visitors. So figure out how much traffic you need to make $100 and then evaluate if this is reasonable. The vast majority of niches require 1,000,000 or more visitors to make $100 and that's just not worth the effort.

Next you need to go where the traffic is. In just about every niche there are a bunch of websites, and people with large email lists, that have the exact kind of traffic you want, and they have lots of it. Your job is to figure out how to build a relationship with those traffic owners and give them a reason to send some of the traffic to you. I know this is really hard but it's absolutely the shortest path to getting traffic quickly and you don't have to worry about search engine optimization or any of that crap.

One way to do this is to build an amazing piece of content, something that is 10 times better than anything out there, and then ask the people with the traffic to send a portion of their traffic to you with your amazing content. You can even offer to put their advertisement on your website, to be displayed when they send their traffic to your site.

That's one way to build a relationship with other people that have the exact traffic you want. There are other ways as well. But typically you have to give them something they want in order for them to send you traffic that you want.

As far as seo goes; here is what I do. 1. I use the Google keyword tool to find relevant long tail keywords. I use these long tail keywords in my url / website name; also use them for titles of your articles. 2 Content, content, content. After using the Google keyword tool to find relevant long tail keywords. Write articles using these long tail keywords for your article titles and the main subject of your articles. And write for your readers/guests. Do not write for Google. But write as many articles as you can. As often as you can. 3. Finally submit your website to Bing..com and Yahoo.com ...screw Google. Its much easier to get a top listing in Bing..com and Yahoo.com

As the other Warriors have already stated it takes money to get a good listing in Google. Once you start making money; then start using some of the money to hire Warriors in (Warriors for Hire) here.
Then try getting a good listing in Google.

people should start thinking of more effective SEO..use long-tail keywords and seek backlink from high DA and PA sites...definitely sometimes, u'll pay will many will be free...one shouldn't just waste resources on things they can get for free...good luck

Nothing comes Free in this world. It would either Cost you Money or Time.

Free Traffic definitely is time consuming and requires a little bit of money atleast to buy domain, hosting & other stuff.

Free Traffic is great if you keyword is really expensive.

Here is my opinions:

1. No, socials engagement and SEO still work well.
2. Build good contents and do right backlinks.
3. ittt.com, hootsuite.com, weontech.com....(free of cost just limit submission).
4. No idea because I don't use it.
5. Ads or make some tools, plugins...for free.
6. I recomemded free weontech, save your time to build PBN or social networks, help you manage and post to hundreds sites/blogs.

In my opinion most of the strategies are same but this year we should concentrate on voice searches more because more and more people are using this feature.

Follow the normal parameters which you were using since years. That is the only key thing you need to remember. Also think of ways which Google might incorporate in their google algorithms.

Recently i am beginning to think that Content written in points and sub headings are much more beneficial in ranking rather than writing then in paragraph alone.

in 2018 you should do everything like in the past year and that is hard work based on each day checking and fixing issues that place your SEO down. There are no any tricks here it is very simple, go and learn more and be ready to work hard to get results.

So, it's already 2018, and I've never heard about some new SEO techniques.

While SEO, in general, as industry, is getting less important and valuable for websites' owners, nothing changed at all.
