I have an old site in the travel niche that has 8 articles that are not Unique as they were the same articles for all other travel blogs form this particular web designer.

I now wish to use this site for my new travel blog and as such I want to write new blogs for the site.

My question is should I delete the old posts completely or leave them there as they are at least some extra content. Also if I do delete the old posts won't they still show on archives?

I think i know the answer but just checking.

You could rewrite the articles so they are unique, and keep the link. This could be good if you have backlinks pointing to them.

Or do a 301 redirect for those pages that are removed.

So, either delete them or rewrite them.

I totally agree with tritrain. Because maybe your old blog posts have good backlinks, you should rewrite them and do not change the url. This will get more traffic to your website.

Ok, I think I will rewrite them.
If I do, can I change the article titles?

Assuming they were good articles and are still up to date, re-write them and change the titles.

I suggest you to delete those posts permanently and write new articles and post on your sites. Because 1 unique content give you good profit but if you publish duplicate post that will harm your site more.

This is simply wrong. Google has said numerous times over the last couple of years that there is no such thing as a duplicate content penalty. This was something that was made up by so-called SEO gurus when they couldn't explain why websites were getting hammered by Penguin. It is not based on facts at all.

That said, only one page may rank well (or even be indexed) for the exact same content so pick a site that you prefer it to be on and put it there OR totally re-write it and put it on both sites.
