Maybe your backlinks are from shady sources that's why they are fading.

You should collect all the dead backlinks and disavow them in the disavow file.

Are you posting well thought out comments on websites at least remotely related to your niche? Or are you using auto-comment tool such as Scrapebox?

No, you should not be posting using auto-posting tools. It has now been repeated on this thread numerous times by more than one person (including myself) that comment links are not going to help you rank better, whether you manually post them or you use a tool to do it for you. You need to come up with a much better plan for getting links from real people who DECIDE to link to your site. Comment links may have helped a decade ago but they do nothing to help you rank now.

RULE OF THUMB: If you can place the link, yourself, on somebody else's website, it is a worthless link for SEO.

Definitely not, they are useless. Doing it manually is the way to go, but keep in mind that it's not an effective SEO strategy. Comment links can be used to drive traffic to your website if you provide valuable advice and post on websites related to your niche

#1 There is no reason to disavow links that do not exist anymore.

#2 As I suspected, they were blog comment links, which the owners of the site removed, likely because they were spam.

Please find a better linking strategy than this. Blog comments will do very little, if anything, to help you rank better. You are wasting your time and the other site owner's time.

There may be several reasons your backlinks are falling off, the first could where you are putting them up. You need good sites that will be around for a longtime, they must also be of good standing. The next is the quality of the content use, first and foremost the content must be relevant. To where it`s shared and in context to what is discuss, also of good quality and value, you have to. Craft your content so that it will benefit both you and the site where you put it, so the admin. Would want to keep it, because of the value it brings. You should also use long-lasting methods, like depositing articles at article sites, where a good well written article. Can stay up for years, this should help you, PS you always have to be creating backlinks: http://www.bimsucessfastmoney.com

Usually, it is because the places where your links were no longer exist or your links were removed (as often happens with forum and comment links). That typically means they were pretty useless to begin with.

Blog commenting and social bookmarks are not going to rank your website. They are useless for SEO purposes and are not considered to be quality backlinks.

If you make your backlinks from low DA sites then it can be happen, another thing is if your post is like spammy then site owner can delete your post this is why maybe backlinks are gone. So post in high DA sites can be fix your problem.
