Hello I have problem with this website

In many pages Google is showing meta titles different from my settings and from the source code.

My website offers a consulting service for merchants who want to sell on eBay and Amazon.

Google is appending the word eBay consultant to many Amazon page and it doesn't make sense to me:

Any idea about the reason?

Thanks

Google is using what it believes is your sites name/brand name at the end of titles when there's room, it will also ignore some title tags to maintain what Google believes is consistent branding.

It's nothing to worry about, completely normal, though can be annoying.

Usually the brand name is taken from the home page title tag, yours is

eBay Consultant | eBay Help - BTW Consulting

Google is assuming your brand name is "eBay Consultant" rather than "BTW Consulting".

The most likely reason why it's using "eBay Consultant" is the anchor text of backlinks, do you have more backlinks with anchor text "eBay Consultant" vs "BTW Consulting"?

There's a sitewide home page link in your footer widget with anchor text "eBay Consultant" that's probably the cause, you've suggested to Google your brand name is "eBay Consultant" via that link.

With your current title tag you run the risk of Google believing your brand name is "eBay Help - BTW Consulting".

You can't stop Google adding your sites brand name to the titles, but you can give Google a clue what it should use.

You can explicitly add the brand name to ALL title tags with the format:

    Webpage Title | Brand Name

The separator doesn't have to be a |.

Alternatively make sure there's a sitewide link back to the home page with the brand name, this tends to work, but it's not guaranteed.

On one of my sites I managed (by mistake) to get my name (David Law) added to the titles of webpages with short title tags. The site is heavily commented and when I added comments myself (it was thousands of comments) there was a link back to home using my name as anchor text! Fixed it by adding a sitewide link with the brand name.

    David
