Does 'pages link to each other' do harm to SEO?

Hi, Does 'pages link to each other' do harm to SEO?


By pages, I mean all pages in my website, not include those external websites.
By link, I mean the hyperlink.

For example,

some content at a.html links to b.html, and some content at b.html links to a.html.

Do this practice do harm to SEO, it's like an endless link loop.

Any word would be greatly appreciated.

    Absolutely not, if done right. Internal linking is actually preferred by Google if you go about it logically because it makes for a better user experience.

    Link related blog posts together. Add a sitemap to your site which lists all the important pages in one place and links to them.

    Just don't be spammy. Obviously, if you link two pages up hundreds of times, it can appear spammy. But of your article on "Top 10 ways to get ready for your Home Inspection" links to your residential home inspection scheduling page once, that's just a good user experience.

    Does wikipedia come to mind

    they do this all the time link to relevant content to internal pages
    it actually is a good practice for Google to crawl your site to other relevant pages other than just a sitemap

    I've heard from people who have tested this 2-3 internal links is similar to one off page link

    even if this is not so, internal linking has a lot of benefits for Google crawling and traffic

    Google encourages internal linking, as long as it makes sense. There is no reason at all two pages can't link to each other if they are related. It happens all the time. Just check practically any Google "help" article and they link back and forth between many other Google help articles. In fact, the entire navigation structure of a website is nothing but pages linking back and forth to each other.

    Linking the pages on the website is instead called as Link building in terms of SEO and it is highly encouraged to have such linking.

    As long the linking makes sense, pages have some related content to each other, you can always interconnect those. This will also help in reducing bounce rate as the visitor will be engaged from one page to other.
