    1. You write a blog about SEO and do not know the answer - that is embarrassing for you
    2. The only thing that improves DA is to get more links
    3. Why do you want to increase it? NO search engine uses DA as a metric in their ranking algorithms

    {now gets the popcorn to sit back and watch the clueless clowns who have no idea how DA is even calculated start posting nonsense}

It is funny how he asks about SEO and write about SEO. It makes his website less credible.

      But as per my advice:
      1. Do link building (white-hat of course)
      2. Write your own content and allow guest postings
      3. Do internal linking
      4. On site optimization

And its even funnier when someone replies who also has no clue either:

Only one of those affects DA. You really should not be psting about DA when you obviousy have no clue how its calculated.

FFS! I said its totally based on backlink parameters in the very first reply to this thread.
Multiple people have posted links to the MOZ site and how its calculated.
Why not just read them rather than show your ignorance?

you just need to be patience. That's the best thing you can do. And while you do that, you keep on optimizing your site. Think long term. Use white hat strategies only. Those that can benefit your site for the long run. With DA ranking, build backlinks from trusted and quality sites. That's a good shot right there. It's tough. But you just have to keep pressing on until you break through it.

Domain authority is a metric that was developed by Moz. The higher your domain authority is, the more likely you are to earn a higher search engine ranking and to receive more and better web traffic. Your domain authority is also a good way to measure your SEO efforts as well as compare the strength of your website to your competition's websites.

Before we get into the meat of how domain authority is factored and how you can go about improving your site's domain authority, it's important to differentiate it from page authority. Page authority is a similar metric, but instead of measuring the strength of an entire domain or subdomain, it measures the ranking strength of a single web page.

How Does Moz Calculate Domain Authority?
Domain authority is scored on a scale of 1 to 100 (1 being the worst, 100 being the best) using an algorithm designed by Moz. Its logarithmic scale means that it's much easier to improve your score if your domain authority is at a 20 or a 30 than if it was at a 70 or an 80. Domain authority between 40 and 50 is considered average, between 50 and 60 is considered good and over 60 is considered excellent.more

I suggest you to check your site once and resolve any issues are there and latest on the check and start working on backlinks. Backlinks must be from the High PR and DA sites. You can get the DA increased but as you mentioned if you want the DA to be increased in short time, you may opt to build the links heavily but that actually a spammy thing to do on a site. I suggest you to gradually increase the DA of the site instead of working at once from all sources and getting affected.

Improvement in domain authority is a time consuming process. You cannot reach 60,70,80, or 90 domain authority overnight. it takes a lot of effort and time. Building domain authority of a website is very much similar to building brand authority or awareness.

The domain authority of your website will improve only when...
    • The design of your website is fantastic.
    • Your Website loads fast and desktop, laptops, mobile phones, Ipads etc.
    • Your website is search engine friendly.
    • The content of your website caters to the requirements of your target market.
    • The backlinks of your website are from the website that belong to your industry.
    • The content of your website is of rich quality and easy to ready and understand for any user.
    • Get Backlinks only from high quality or high DA/PA websites from your industry.
    • Its navigation system must be easy to understand for your visitors. It must help them navigate from one place to another.
    • Its content is easily readable on any device.
    • It has to be responsive according to the device it is opened on.
    • It has been designed and developed and coded according to Google's (search engine's) latest guidelines.
    • It is perfectly optimized for search engines and voice search.
    • The text on your website is not plagiarized and offers meaningful information your visitors are searching for.

Don't go for black-hat SEO Practices. Use only White-Hat SEO practices.

Remove the timelines from your intent. Speeding up the process means you fear something - which is why you rush - and that gums up the whole works.

Guest posting was the best way for me to raise my DA to almost 50, when I cared about such stuff. Dive in, build bonds with top folks in your niche, improve your writing skills and when invites flow in, gobble em up and guest post away.

    • A link audit is something that helps you to find the number links that pour into your website. If you are looking out to improve your DA, your website should have healthy links.
    • No matter what kind of link you create it is important that you generate quality content that attracts your customers. Q&A sites are the best way to share links.

Your backlink profile, content quality, and user experience - all these factors come into play in increasing the domain authority of a website. So make sure to focus on removing toxic links and try to acquire as many quality links as you can use by using guest posting, email outreach, skyscraper technique etc.

It is not possible to increase the DA immediately say in 3 months time. This will grow gradually.

There are lots of ways to increase DA of a website, such as:

-A good domain name is easy to remember so it can be a way of increase domain authority of a website.
-Lots of linkable content can increase authority.
-Need to optimize on page of a website where need to use perfect keywords according to niche.
-Here very important is internal linking, which is helpful for increasing DA.

For increasing the domain authority the only thing can help you - link your website to higher authority relevant website from where you will get some real traffic.

    --> Remove the broken links
--> Disavow all the spam backlinks
--> Nofollow all the external links
--> optimize your website for best user experience

this is enough that you can so to increase the domain authority of your domain but according to me, one month is not enough to increase the domain authority. You must have to work on it for not less than 6 months.

You really are quite clueless about DA. Suggest you go to the MOZ site and see how they actually calculate it.

          Like, WTF has this:

something which you have obviously not done yourself, or you would not be making the claims that you did.

Yes, DA is based on external links, but not based on the nonsense that you were claiming:

Domain authority is a big factor in whether your site pages rise to the top of search engine page rankings. Whether your users trust your site as an authoritative force in your industry. By increasing the inbound links to your site, improving user experience and other approaches, you can boost your domain authority and grow your reach.

In order to increase your site's domain authority, you need to get dofollow backlinks pointing to your site from websites that have high Domain Authority. Some of the authority from those sites will be "passed on" to your site via the dofollow link.

The best way to grow Domain Authority is by earning a good reputation online. Your first priority should be to do a couple audit of your site in regards to quality of content and user experience. Do people love visiting your site, and are you fulfilling their needs.
If you are able to do these two things people you can build up some social buzz, and begin earning the right to ask people to link back to your site. Another great way to earn quality back links is through guest posting on other sites. You can then link back to your page within your post or in your author bio.
Not many companies exist that will help you legitimately increase your DA, but two that I highly recommend The Hoth and Incline. The Hoth will help you with both your content strategy and developing a good backlink ecosystem.
Incline is a powerful platform that will share authority with you, and optimize any online presence. I have seen success from both organizations and recommend looking into one of the two depending on your budget.
Just remember above all else make sure your site is worth sharing, and make it easy to share online through social share buttons. That is the very best way to get the links you need to boost your organic traffic.

True. It isn't a ranking factor and what I noticed about people who are looking to increase DA are those that makes guest posting a business. They highlight it on their ads on Fiver that they have 30+ DA websites.

But the thing is, if you are really looking forward to improve your website, you need to use this Moz ratings as well. Tools like Moz and Ahrefs try to replicate the algorithm Google has when ranking websites.

4 of those 5 things have NOTHING to do with DA. Do you even bother to read threads before posing on them?

DA is a metric of Moz and you need to understand how moz calculates its DA and PA.
    https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority
    look at here
    https://moz.com/community/q/how-is-da-and-pa-calculated

DA is not consider in anygoogle algorithms. google has different algorithms for finding spammy links on your site as well finding low quality links. you should focus on building high authority links to get good rankings in Google.

let me share you my story. My domain is also less than a year old, but for few keywords it is already beating away many competitors and let me also tell you, my niche in India is a very competitive and crowded one. But you know if you have a proper strategy you can just be ahead of other sites that can be 10 years older than yours!

    So here are the basic:
    1. Write 3 blogs/week
    2. For each blog write over 1200 word content.
    3. Add images and video with proper alt text.
    4. Give H2 ( your focus keyword)
    5. Optimise titile, url, meta des. and content with focus keyword.
You can go for a yoast plugin where off-page will be lot more easier.

    Now the next part:
    1. Do business listing: 20+ per week
    2. Extensive social book marking
    3. Blog pinging.
    4. try for atleast one press release/week.
    5. Try for showcasing your image/link wherever possible.

    Backlinking:
Easiest way is to comment on relevant sites and obviously remember not to spam.
Try for guest posting but it may take some time.
Research for competitors backlinks and you will easily understand where you can also try, this trick help me a lot.
    Consider creating a strong linkwheel!
I'm unable to send you the screenshots, but here is my domain BizzmanWeb write "packaging design company in kolkata" and you will see my website coming up in the first page.Try all the combinations and you will still find my website there.

Why are you focusing on DA? That's not going to make you any money.

Focus on rankings, visitors and conversions.

Those are the metrics that will make you some cashola. Not how much DA you have.

    Just my 2c.
