Hi,
I know how to take a website and to add a wordpress blog to it. My question is how do I make the blog pages look like the website?

I had outsourced this once but I'd like to be able to do it myself.

For example, one site that I was working on was easingpanicattacks.com. I had someone add a blog to the site and the blog looks just like the main site...how the heck?!

It's not with themes I'm sure as the blog looks like the main website page...which was not based on a theme.

Can someone please help..this is probably such a noob question, I feel a bit retarded.

Help!

The easiest way to make a blog look like a "normal" website is to do the following :

    1. Remove all sidebar widegets, such as archives, recent post/comments blocks. Anything that wouldnot exist on a normal website.

    2. Set your permalinks to be
    %postname%.html

    3. Make pages instead of posts.

Now your website will look alot like a normal website, than a blog.

You are right, the correct template can make all the difference.
Try searching for a template that is a 1-column template, with a horizontal menu for the pages..

    I hope this helps

It's just a matter of HTML and CSS. A wordpress site can look like anything you want it too.

Your outsourcing guy did a nice job. BTW.. it looks like your entire site is a wordpress site with the default index page set to a static page. So, it is a wordpress theme. Looks like he created a theme that matched what your site looked like.

As i know some of the thing in wordpress you never changed. You can upload your own templates in wordpress and then mold it as you need.

But for that you need paid subscription. One more thing you can do that is you can change wordpress blog header as you need.

Thanks Jason, I am looking for someone to do the very same thing to my thisoldgrout.com site and I'm not sure it's even possible.

The FrontPage template I'm using is search engine optimized but I wouldn't have a clue about how to translate that into a wordpress theme...is it possible?

I wouldn't mind losing the flash on my main page to create an easier job of converting the template into a theme.

Any ideas on where to go to get something like this done?...Elance?
