Holy crap dude. Everyone here says wordpress is the Sh!t for SEOz and rankingz, that can't be right. Google is simply wrong or hasn't picked up on the fact that your site is powered by Wordpress.

Ok, instead of just being a sarcastic son of a gun, I'll try to help you and other readers out.

Analyze your site against the other in the niche that rank on the first page of Google for the target keyword.
Specifically compare the on page factors:
titles - how many words and how used.
meta descriptions - how many words is average in your niche
meta keywords - how many words is average in your niche
length of body - how many words is average in your niche
use of h1,h2 -used yes or no
site structure - info site, blog site, etc

Try to make your pages like the average page that gets ranked in the top 10 and then work on building links via article writing and link exchanges/directories/blog comments/etc

If all the sites have pages over 1000 words in length and you've got some 400 word plr articles, well, that's your problem. Not saying this is your problem, just an example. Always look at your competition before you build your site, so you don't bring a knife to a gunfight.

Just concentrate on building some quality backlinks for your site, it will be better if you can get it from some relevant and high PR sources. Also concentrate more towards getting links from do-follow sources.

Get good traffic for your site. This will help. You can do this by constant link building.

Register the site with Google's Webmaster Tools and see what information that gives you.

Some people have experienced some issues with Wordpress' privacy settings. Make sure you have it set to 'Share with search engines' otherwise you will never get indexed
