Ranking but still not getting hits

Dear Experts,

We are ranking with most of the keywords in between 5 to 10 in google. But the thing is that we are not getting leads & hits from a long time. We have also optimized our website compltely with strong backlinking.

Need valuable advice.

    What are the search volumes of your target keywords? Also, are you sure your site is really ranking in those keywords and not just a personalized results from search engines?

    Also.. how do you determine "strong" backlinks?


    For me, strong links would pass all the requirements below:

    * sits on a domain with domain- Trust Flow of at least 10
    * website represents stand-alone business or entity operating in a locality/ area covered by my own business-website, the "geo" signal
    * website is about a category related to what i offer on my business-website
    * website is receiving regular traffic

    It may take some work and waiting, but strong links are obtainable if you do things right..

      Well said., If someone getting ranked than he should maintain the quality of information on the website, by this there is more chances to get lead.

    We don't know how many searches that keywords have, daily, monthly. You should have on mond that bottom part of SERP (as you mentioned 5-10th plase) have lower CTR. So if keyword you rank 5th, for instance have 10 searches a day, it's normal you will get 0-1 click a day.

    Then, analyze your title tag (and description). Test few versions. Maybe that's the issue.

    And 3rd, if you get some clicks but not sales, maybe you should analyte, test and change some IU elements on page.

    Yeah, nowhere near enough information here. How many searches per day are those keyword phrases targeting? Do the pages that are ranking actually match the intent of the searches? Are your title tags and meta descriptions compelling people to click? When you look at the actual SERPs, which result(s) would you click on (and is there any reason to keep clicking on other results after clicking on the top 2-3)?

    Then, of course, I can't help but wonder how you know where you actually rank? Are you signed into Google when you check your rankings or not? If you are signed in, you'll often get much higher results than if you are not.

    I think the problem is with Keyword Selection. May be you are targeting keywords which a person search for navigation or for information Purpose. So Select new set of Keywords for your website.

    Hey,
    First of all, you have to check the domain and page authority from Moz. Then also see the competitors analysis which is at the top of the Google. Check the keywords and its search volume. On the daily basis also check the targeted words so that you can come to know that your keywords must be targeted or not. The information you have provided must be of high quality and get some backlinks so that your website must be rank. Check the Meta Titles, Meta Descriptions, Meta Keywords and Heading Tags.
    Meta Title must be 65-75 characters.
    Meta Descriptions must be 150-155 characters.
    Heading Tags must be h1-h6
    And from Google Planner you can search the check the keywords and search volume.

      Your domain and page authority have nothing to do with why you may be ranking high but nobody is clicking on your result (or converting), not is the number of backlinks you have.

      I'm not sure if you are saying that they are clicking on the result but aren't taking the desired action on your website (i.e. buying something) or that they aren't clicking at all.

      If you rank well but nobody is clicking, you are targeting the wrong keyword phrases and/or your title tag and meta description are not providing a reason for people to click.

      If what you are saying is that you get the clicks but nobody buys, you either have the wrong products or the wrong prices for the keyword phrases people are clicking on.

    Sounds like the title and the excerpt displaying in Google Search results are not compelling enough to click. Study the search results of other sites showing in the search results.Perhaps copy their title (slight change only!), and change the excerpt.

        It certainly beats a whole lot of thread titles I don't even click on like "Please help" or "Has this happened to you?" or "How do I fix this?" or a current one in the SEO section - "I'm being killed" (I figure the person is probably dead by now so why bother clicking on it?).

    Ranking high in search results doesn't guarantee hits and leads for your website because it still depends on your page whether it engage or not in time duration.

    I think this is a classic case of someone overvaluing a first-page ranking.

    Ranking between 5-10 means you are probably getting about 2% or less of the search volume for those keywords. Even if a keyword gets searched 10,000 times per month, you are going to see less than 10 visitors per day from it.

    For most keywords, if you are not in the top 3, you pretty much don't exist.

    As suggested below, I'd look at how much traffic is on those keywords and if you're landing/ranking page is doing a good job at converting any traffic you get. You say you aren't getting hits so that suggests there is very little traffic on those keywords. Make sure you do some keyword research and get an idea of volume on search terms.

    Yes, nowadays getting leads for the owner of the website and the members who are doing SEO for that site. Because when everything is good on a website then google will give the rank obviously but generally no visitor will hit to your website until an unless they feel something good on your website. nowadays every SEO technique developed the social media optimization process on which you can promote your products or your services in an interesting way, in a good social media platform and the visitors get attracted through that.

    May be there is problem of keyword selection, people search with same keywords whatever you use may be they didn't get enough information or they dont get your site with your keywords. So you can run ppc for your site which might be helpful for get leads and hits.
