Ok I have been doing this on and off for arond 5 years.

I know how to get indexed but its just not happening for 2 of my new sites.

Is google taking longer letely to index sites?

I made 2 wordpress sites on brand new domains.

Hostgator reseller hosting, xml sitemap plugin, robots txt plugin, made sure the wordpress was setup to be visible to all search engines.

Did 5 articles for each site, did all my on page SEO.

Bookmarked both sites with onlywire and submitted rssfeeds with an auto submitter.

Submitted sitemaps to google webmaster tools and installed analytics.

After 5 days the sites are still not indexed. Back a year ago these sites would be indexed in 24 hours, I havent tried to index a new site in a while.

So is something wrong or does it just take like 10 days to get indexed now?

That sounds odd.Normally, Google indexes Wordpress blogs within a few days and all it takes is a forum post or posting a comment on a high traffic blog.I guess you just have to wait a few days more.

Check Settings -> Privacy... You are probably blocking search engines.

That doesn't sound unusual to me. However, I put a new blog up recently, added a couple of PR2 links and it took a week to get indexed, it would normally take about 3 years. Google are updating at the moment so that could be why.

Just continue to update and build backlinks, your site will be indexed soon enough.

I just put up a handful of sites with pretty much that exact setup (hostgator, wordpress, etc.) and it took exactly one week for them to get indexed. Give it a couple of days and you should be set.

same here, i have been doing a couple of sites a week for about a month now and all of them are getting indexed in about a week. My sites used to get index in 24 hours usually, but now it does seem to take a bit longer, just have patience Google will index them

I just got my new niche static site indexed after 4 days after doing lots of back linking using Angela's links. I did about 5 articles and submitted to 3 article directories. Someone in this forum shared about 20 urls of wesbite look out and to just put your new domain and it may have helped too. (sorry that thread seems to have been taken off as I can't find it)

Indexing times vary from a few hours to a few weeks. Processing power is a commodity at Google, after the google bot visits your site you seem to go into some sort of queue to be added.

I have noticed that just before google releases an update sites can take a long time to get indexed. I have found however if I put a link to my site on a few popular sites it can speed the process up dramatically.

You could also try pinging your sites to let search engines know that your site is up. This could be of little help, but it wouldn't hurt to try it.
