HELP - How should I track keywords, KPIs?

I've landed an SEO position that will require much more tracking than I've done in the past.

I'm used to tracking keywords in SEMRush. And tracking KPIs in Google Analytics.

But I've never tracked everything in a spreadsheet.

I'm wondering A) Should I have a master spreadsheet with KPIs and changes that is updated, say, weekly and B) How do I do that?

I'd also like to know the best way to track optimizations made so that I know when I increase in rankings for a specific keyword it was because of an optimization I made on said date.

I'm going to figure this out on my own but it's a lot to take on so some help from a seasoned vet would be much appreciated!

Just a basic overview of how you track your campaigns, regardless of what I've written above, would be an amazing relief.

    I do a custom report in Google Data Studio for each client. It pulls data out of many sources including GA and GSC and allows to customize your dashboard for each project individually (you can add main KPIs your client wants to track). I also like the fact that it can be branded and other visual stuff which makes it look like you are an agency, not a freelancer This is pretty much what I do.

    I will all in all spotlight less on catchphrase rankings and more on traffic and introduction pages. I center around the inquiries in request support and look at examples. I moreover look at the traffic on subdirectory level to get a progressively broad perspective. I furthermore center around usage signals, backlinks, social balance, changes, and diverse signs. I focus on landing pages that generate the most conversions. I always compare them year over year and month over month. I want to see if they changed. If they do change I try to understand why that may have happened. It generally comes down to was it me, Google, or my competition. These signs have an impact (prompt or underhanded) on Google and all around online accomplishment.

    Keep in mind forget that Google is customizing indexed lists. Besides they are continually taking off positioning equation changes. Regardless of whether you roll out an improvement to the page, it doesn't mean it is the explanation behind any Google traffic change. A few pages that don't consistently change content and have few backlinks may be crept by Google rarely. It's conceivable Google hasn't seen a change on your page yet changed their positioning equation. There are such a large number of moving parts to this circumstance.

    If you are not tracking your KPI and Keywords reports in a Spreadsheets you are doing wrong of course. maintaining a record will give you good insights that how you progress throughout our SEO Journey.

    You can use google sheets to maintain your Off-Site SEO Activites and also create or download a keyword ranking sheet if you're using SEMRush or similar paid tools. so you can check your growth.
