Wordpress set up - which would be best for SEO?

So, I've got two sweet domain names that I want to leverage to create (1) niche product review sites and another (2) to funnel traffic to cpaoffers.

For each one, I'm thinking of a similiar set up but not sure which route to take...

...install Wordpress MU and use subdomains (niche.domain.com), or install standard WP in its own directory (domain.com/niche) for each niche.

Is either of these better suited for internal link building and organic rankings?

Hope that makes sense. Thanks!

    Thanks DZ.

I can certainly appreciate going with new domains, and perhaps that would be better for each particular niche. Here's what I'm working with...

ProductReviewz.com - right now there isn't anything going on there.

The gameplan was to use it as an umbrella domain, to consolidate the information and build up the domain (and potentially brand) of productreviewz.com.

    digitalcameras.productreviewz.com
    digitalcameras.productreviewz.com/canon/
    digitalcameras.productreviewz.com/nikon/

    or

    www.productreviewz.com/digitalcameras/canon

Because the domain likely contains 1/2 of the search phrase "whatever product reviews" I thought it might make sense to leverage that one domain.

Maybe my thinking is flawed ;(

Subdomains are harder to rank, but they can rank just like any other site if you make them into an authority site. I mean look at how badass about.com is, all of it's sites are subdomains. Just apply the same SEO strategies and you should do fine.
