The riddle of keywords ranking on Google!!

Ok, this has been a major headache for me lately, and I still can't find a reasonable explanation for it...

To begin the argument, I would like to say that I have been in the SEO business for almost a year, I've read a lot about SEO, and I've messed up more than once, I know that Google changes its algorithm, I know the main standards for ranking, I totally understand the black/white hat strategies!!!

BUT, what I still don't understand is that working hard on one niche keyword and trying your best to rank it to get to the top is really becoming a nightmare!!!

Now here's what I'm trying to figure out:

1- Does Google really penalize the blackhat SEO or this is just a fantasy?
2- How on earth a website with no backlinks of whatsoever, no social signals, no high domain and page authority... can dominate the very first position on google?

Please provide me with valuable information, cuz I think I've had enough with similar explanations that I find on the web.

    High-Quality content. I have a site I built recently and without any extra effort on my part (Beyond good On-page) has started to receive search traffic. The comp. is well established but my quality is head and shoulders above them.

      That has also been my experience - at least with a well established authority site. I can publish an amazing post and get ranked very high for my main keyword within days. That is without backlinks or any social signals to the page yet. I can see the competition trying all the off-page stuff but I zoom right past them if they have poor content to start with.

    Most of them, yes. But there are always a way around any new algorithm if you know what you're doing and talking to the right people in the SEO niche.

    2- How on earth a website with no backlinks of whatsoever, no social signals, no high domain and page authority... can dominate the very first position on google?

    Grade A content and solid on-page optimization, or just temporary luck. It's VERY rare that you'd rank for a decent keyword/phrase without ANY backlinks or some social promotion I don't care who says what. Low competition, sure, maybe you'd get lucky more often.

    So Google is going to show crap with backlinks over high-quality with none? The funny part is I built the site with the intention of paid promotion and little regard for off-page, in other words, "Organically."

    You SEO "experts" don't get Organic. It's like a unicorn or bigfoot. I believe G looks at how hard you are trying to game their algo and adjusts accordingly. But what do I know, I'm a media buyer who just got "lucky!"

    Content is the master in digital marketing. If you have good quality content with the uniqueness then you do n't need to do off page SEO. Make your content more effective by discussing a problem with the solution.

    Alright, so we all agree that content is the king!! But even when that's true, blackhat can always find its way to rank up, which is actually bothering me a lot.

    For example, the content I provide, it's all unique, not copied or scrapped, talking about issues and providing solutions, providing tips and recommendations...

    When it comes to targeting a certain keyword and trying to rank up for it... I find it annoying that my competitors who BTW are generating tons of spammy backlinks and I mean it, literally blackhat techniques... They do rank up for the exact keyword!!

    So, content isn't always the king!!! And those who obviously use blackhat, as far as I can see are not being penalized by google!!!

    1. Google penalizes the sites using blackhat SEO techniques, they have penalized my site in August 2017, than again i started doing whitehat SEO techniques. Recharge1 is my website.
    2. On-page strategy plays a main role in positioning a websites at the top of it's search results. If your high is of high quality and unique than your website will on the top.
    Google fetches data based on search query of human intelligence to answer the best result of queries searched.

    1. They don't penalize if you don't have spammy links, because there's no way of knowing if you bought the links or acquired them in a natural way.
    2. There's no way to dominates SERP's without backlinks. Only with super low-volume keywords.
