To get started you only need a few things:

1. Google Analytics
2. SEMrush/Ahrefs/Screaming Frog (Whatever you prefer)

You're good to go with those, then as you learn more, you'll add to your arsenal.

There are free ones and paid ones. Obviously paid ones are better.

But for starters. Use the free ones, and get used to them. Then once you are familiar with SEO go for the paid ones. Don't jump right into paid ones. It's a huge learning curve.

There are many tools out there, you just can't rely on 1 or 2 tools, for starting you can use these few tools which are the most important in terms of SEO-

1. Ahrefs [Paid]
2. Google keyword planner [Free]
3. Google Analytics [Free]
4. Keyword everywhere [Chrome extension, but free]
5. SEMrush [You can get free 10 trials if you register with them]
6. MOZ [DA/PA checker]
