Actually there is no limit to link building. But you need to be careful on one part and that is , whenever you make a content you should not add too many links because it affects the readability and quality as well.
So as long as you are good with quality there is no limit to adding internal links.

It is very unlikely to hurt your SERP to have lots of internal links. Just remember that link quality is much more important than link quantity. So keep them relevant because Google is getting good at analyzing link relevancy.
