I would proceed with the second option. According to my experience, widgets could make things worse. Especially when you have different widgets on different scopes.

Second version is better, you control how the juice flows.

There's nothing stopping you from doing that. But it won't do you any good. Google consolidates links on a page - and pays attention to only one. So if you link five times, G will treat it as one link. As far as I'm aware, it will use the link text from the first encountered. All others are ignored.

There is nothing wrong to try different routes, after all sooner or later they
would bring desirable results, and specially when you have no idea how G.
is going to act at any given time.

Better approach for internal linking is through many website pages that linking to other pages that are most related to each other.

First technique is to generate plethora of content. Then utilize anchor text. Keep in mind, the deeper your links move, the better it is. Make use of links in such a manner that appears natural to visitors. Utilize relevant links. The more your internal linking relevant to the content, the better it is. You can even make use of follow links. Utilize a sensible number of internal links.

    Do both.

Your "related posts" is good for user experience and keeping your audience on your site.

And internal linking within the actual content of your posts will provide you with better SEO value (i.e. opportunity for better rankings).

  • Internal Linking is the connecting of two pages under the same domain to one another. It's interesting for me to see that even experienced SEO specialists forget about the power of internal linking. If you use them strategically, internal links can send page authority (also known as PageRank) to important pages. I have access to all of your bubble keywords that are primed to improve their rankings through internal linking.
