Hey Guys.........glad I found this forum!!

I hired some guys from India to help with my SEO, but it isn't working.......in fact, I'm not listed at all from what I can tell.

My site has software for trading stocks, and has been on the internet for 18 years or so.

When I enter 'stock trading software' into Google/Bing, my site doesn't even show up......going back 400 results.

Was wondering why.....and how I can fix it......

Don't necessarily need to be #1....lol.....but maybe #40 or so would really help.

Thanks in advance for any advice/help.......

SiteDAmanda

PS. Searching for DDAmanda does result in #1......but that's not very helpful....

You say you are not "listed at all" which is not the case. If you do a Google search with "site:" you will see what pages of your site are indexed by Google (i.e. site:mywebsite.com). You clearly are indexed for some things because you have found your site for "DDAmanda".

Now, being indexed and ranking somewhere where people will ever find your site are two different things. You are in a highly competitive market, so getting ranked for broad search terms related to stock trading software isn't going to be easy. It's going to take a ton of content and seriously great backlinks from respected high authority websites (like the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, etc.).

Once I saw "I hired some guys from India to help with my SEO" that was all I needed to see. If you aren't spending at least several thousand dollars per month for a legitimate SEO agency that has a solid track record of getting sites ranked for extremely competitive keyword phrases, you're just flushing money down the toilet.

If you don't have that kind of money to throw around, you either need to pay for advertising or you need to maintain an outstanding, helpful social presence that may get you some traffic to your site from related forums and social groups built around stock trading.

Oh ... and "#40 or so" isn't going to help much either. When is the last time you made it 4-5 pages deep in the search results when you were looking for something? Likely, it was for something where none of the search results matched what you were looking for - something that is highly unlikely to happen for the search terms you are targeting.

How much money are you exactly spending per month? The niche you are talking about will need serious work to get ranked in good positions.

The guys from India probably black hatted their way to getting your site deindexed.

It is not de-indexed. They have found their site for more obscure search terms like the name of their site. The OP just wants to rank for things people actually search for and in that industry, they are going up against very stiff competition, so it isn't very likely unless they get some really outstanding editorially placed links from respected sites - something "some guys from India" probably cannot get them.

Ok. Thank you all for the responses!

I guess my market is too competitive to compete it, w/o spending a ton of money, which I'm in short supply of.

What is interesting is that my site does not show up at all in the 3 pages (100/page) that Google shows.

If I look at the 'omitted results' pages, there is one result on page 3 linking to a YouTube Video I did.

So, I wonder if I'm doing something that Google doesn't like........

And I think I need to target smaller niches, than 'stock trading software'....lol

Anyway, thanks again for the responses, and any other ideas you guys might have.

You see your page that meant google index your site and ranked your site. I think you chose very high competitive keywords. You have to change your keywords.

    I checked your site.

    Your alexa rank is 9,365,697
Your site PA - 23, DA - 13, backlinks 340 (Your competitive sites are very strong with PA and DA)
    Daily Traffric/visitor - 34

    ddamanda.com 11 34%
    http://ddamanda.com/members/amandachartstart.php 4 13%
    https://ddamanda.com/quickstart.php 4 13%
    www.ddamanda.com 4 13%
    dd amanda 3 9%
    ddamanda 3 9%
    http://ddamanda.com 3 9%
    http://ddamanda.com/ 2 6%
    https://ddamanda.com/ 2 6%
    zardiw 2 6%

    You anchor those keywords.

    Where's your focus keyword?

You have to do keyword research and divide it in 3 lvl. Primary keyword, secondary, and Auxilary.

    Thanks

One more thing, your backlinks are low quality and have broken link. You need a SEO expert who really knows SEO.

Because You need to check webmaster, google analytics tools (i meant on page and off page, need a find out bugs and remove those errors otherwise google will kick you soon).

If you want traffic to the site, you'll have to start with a reputable company, and a solid content strategy. It takes a good 6-12 months to start getting solid traction if you do it right.

Trying to build an online business requires comprehensive SEO over the long term, and there's no way paying someone offshore $300/month is going to build your business.

The other thing is that this is a YMOYL niche, so with Google it is all about EAT. https://searchengineland.com/google-...queries-312525

That is a very competitive industry. You should have a high budget for link building. And you need to hire an expert who knows SEO.

If you have access to your own site,

Head to Google Search Console to see what are the errors on your site
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11520898].message }}
  • You have to first make sure that the pages on your site that you're trying to rank are properly optimized (on page). If so, then you need to start building the right kind of backlinks in order for those pages to rank. For example, if all that have been built are nofollow backlinks, your site will stand no chance of ranking anywhere near the first page (because Google does not count nofollow links). You need to build links that are dofollow, on domains with high authority, contextual and relevant.
