My success with the XFactor Method - And a question

Hello World. Recently, I posted that I cracked the $100 barrier that Google needs to send you the first check. But now, I just want to post my success with the XFactor method in general.

After temporarily letting the whole make money online thing go (even with the small success with startup site flipping), I was directed to XFactor's 32 page thread by fellow Warrior Kelly Verge (I am still trying to get in contact with you man!). I took the time to read all 32 pages of it and get a feel of the techniques John gave away in that thread. Though I still don't have the book, the thread was enough to get me on my feet. I studied like hell and even stayed up one night until 3:30 am to take notes and everything. Then I got started.

I had little small experiences with getting niche sites on the first page of Google so I figured it would work. And with a little elbow grease, I managed to get three out of five sites on the first page and making money. It was amazing stuff to see numbers instead of goose eggs.

Here I am about a little over a month later, and one of my sites is on track to hit $50 this month (though I expect it to be a tad less). And now, I have just had my fourth consecutive $3 day from the three out of five sites combined.

I have three more sites on the pipeline which I am extremely confident I can get on the first page with and add to my daily earnings. I have set goals here:

$10/day means I will not need to donate plasma (which is already gone anyway). $20/day means I won't, well, I'll keep that confidential (not anything illegal haha). And $30/day will match or even exceed the income I had working as a Salad Runner at a restaurant, meaning I won't need a job. And I have set one final goal. I hope that by this time in 2010, I am making $100/day, meaning I won't have money problems ever again.

Now the question: I am considering, however, flipping my $50/month site. This is simply because I could use the big jolt of instant cash. How much do you think I could sell it for? I am thinking 5x-10x earnings, but I could use the input of my fellow Warriors.

For anyone on the fence with the XFactor method, you need to hit it. My personal site's motto is "If it doesn't work for me, it won't work for you." But this DOES work for me, and it WILL work for you. I just have to hope I ain't speaking too soon.

The thread, for those that don't know about it:

do not sell it.what are you planning to do with the money you get through it?Instead spend more time developing niche sites - if you find link building tough for these sites, maybe you can use the some WSO giving link building sources.Keep building and you will touch 100 per day.set goals and work.MMO becomes hard/at least in efficient without a strategy !

I agree, don't sell your site, they may make bigger amount of money in long run than one time money.

Since you've learn how to make money from this technique why not continue building new sites, outsource some jobs like link building to unload lot of time and you can develop more sites like this. If you're making $3 a day for 3 sites then why not create another 50 sites that will make $3 a day that will be $150 a day then. Just duplicate what you did in those 3 sites that are making right now.

  • Hey Biggy,

Kudos to you man, that's really terrific! Give yourself a (few more lol!) pats on the back.

The best piece of general advice I could offer you at this point is, don't start 'second-guessing' yourself if things get 'bumpy'. While it's great to see a straight upwards line, the reality is earnings, rankings, etc., all move up & down. You've clearly 'seen the light' in terms of how to find good keywords, get a site up, get it to rank, and earn money. One of the most common sources of 'failure' is quitting when early successes experience bumps.

In terms of selling the site, here's the thing. You could probably get 3-5 x monthly at this point. Getting much more than that would probably require showing some months of steady or growing revenue, and by your post it seems the site isn't that 'aged' yet.

Do yourself a favor. Hold onto it. If nothing else, it will continue to provide that motivation of seeing your success every day. You can always flip it down the road, and the longer you hold it, the more you'll get for it.

Anyway, just wanted to say 'way to go' - and keep at it!

I love your moniker: Biggy Fat

Congratulations on your success so far and keep going! You'll definitely reach your goals.

John's free thread made me get off my duff and pay attention to my long neglected Adsense sites. I'd lost respect for this type of income based on the popular notion that Adsense isn't going to make you big money, etc. And this is in spite of the steady income Adsense puts in my bank account monthly.

Well, it won't give you results if you don't work at it. I created some new sites with John's model and some are doing well, but need more promotion. I've been temporarily distracted by another project. But, it's fun being into Adsense again and knowing that if you do A, B and C you'll get great results.

Plus, you'd be surpirse how quickly you can grow your income with Adsense in one or two months.

    Multiple sites is the key.

Hey Biggy, I build a lot of adsense minisites. You'll find as you go along that flipping the $100/mo or less sites (unless you're going to build them out) is more profitable once you hit the 8-10 week mark, especially if you're limited with time.

$50/mo should get you around $500 if you present it right on Flippa. With that money you could have 250 articles created at $2 a piece from a decent Phillipino writer and have another 25-50 sites up.

Just make sure you don't spend the money, always reinvest until you have a production level you're satisfied with. I get 20 articles a day, and build 2-4 sites with those... it's worth getting the extra capital to scale up and focus your time on the biggest earners, or just to "research" your next niches...

Also, once you flip a site for $500 - $1000, man, you will be sooo motivated to bang out site after site.

    Best wishes.

    Scott

Scott, I have a question on this. Most of these types of sites are done with XsitePro, how feasible is to sell them at Flippa to somebody who doesn't have the software and won't bother to buy it? Afterall Xsitepro is $200 (+ $20-$30 taxes in Europe, learned it first hand...)

Good question! I've never used XsitePro, just wordpress and html (mainly html b/c it's easy to manage/flip)

It's a good idea to stay away from any service that requires new owners to sign up if you plan to flip a site... for example:

      3waylinks
      Neurolinker
      Xsitepro

I'm coming out with a script very soon (it's in beta now) that will turn text articles into adsense sites fully optimized with title, header, meta tags, etc.

You might consider grabbing it when it's live if you want the simplicity of html without worrying about the coding.

You could probably hire somebody off of elance.com or rent-a-coder to turn your xsitepro site into html and they could swap it in an instant so as not to disrupt.

You'll have to way out the cost vs. what you could sell it for

You might email xsitepro as well. They might have a converter of some sort available.

With Xsitepro you can export your website to dreamweaver or frontpage so it's not a problem trying to sell a site, so the other person don't have to have Xsitepro.

I have made a small script in PHP which can easily change theme and articles. You can check it here :

nganhtuan.com/2009/09/ small-php-script-to-make-micro-niche-sites-quickly/ (Sorry cause I have not right to post link now)

I'm going to make it more easier to work with but it will be better for me to receive your ideas for some new features with my code.

    Hope this help

Hi Biggy,I find your experiences real interesting. I bought XFactors ebook 2 months ago and started out out with high expectations.I have eleven sites up and running now.Three are on Google page 1 and the rest I am working on. It has been a tough process with a lot of trial and error. One site has a 25% CTR and is doing about $3 per day or a bit more. The others are in the 0% to 5% CTR and just getting the odd click here and there. The whole lot are doing about $5 per day in total. I am not sure that the XFactor template is the best way to go for me. I started out with all the sites in an overall bigger but similar template with brighter colors and then switched to the XFactor template after a few weeks. I seem to be getting less clicks on it than with my early format. So I may switch back and see what happens.I am finding the amount of work involved in promoting the sites, with articles and links, and adding pages to them to be daunting.I tried buying some articles at about $5 each but what I received was really poor stuff that I had to almost completely rewrite.I am temporarily at a standstill as far as adding any more sites till I get the present 11 sites to a point where they don,t need so much work.Anyway I am going to keep working at it till I see what I can really expect for the long term.I hope you keep working at it also Biggy and I certainly would not sell that $50 per month site at present. That is steady income you can build on.

Definitely mess around with the layout, and always look at other factors. Are those sites that aren't making as much getting traffic? Do the links stand out enough? Are your ads relevant?

There also certain products that don't seem to get as high of CTR for one reason or another. Keep toying around with your sites, and make the adjustments where needed, and you should do quite well.

Thanks both for the replies on this. I'll check out the exporting option in Xsitepro. I'm just worried that the actual 'template' won't get exported, so if the new owner wants to add a new article to it, each page will have to be modified (for the header or menu) to include that new page in it as well. Or if I want to modify any element that is common to all pages (sidebar, footer, header) it has to be done manually in each page - if it makes sense what I'm saying. Not sure there is a way around it...

Hi Charley Brown,Thanks for your comments and suggestions.I have had a problem with relevance of some of the ads that Google are coming up with for my websites. Some in fact have a whole block of completely irrelevant ads while some pages on the same site get good relevant ads. I tried changing the title tags in the HTML and getting a new ads from Google but it has not worked any better.Don,t know why that is. Some of the sites are getting quite a bit of traffic but very poor CTR even where Googles ads are relevant.I will see 100 impressions and maybe 1 or zero clicks on one site.Others much fewer impressions but a number of clicks.I guess I will try a few things to get the CTR up on the poor ones and if that doesn,t work I wiil abandon them and move on to try other niches. I have 2 now that are working quite well and some others that need more promotion but are showing signs of doing alright.Anyway thanks for your comments.
