If you use FireFox, get the NoDoFollow plugin and search for forums.

The plugin will show you which is dofollow or not.

remember to vary your links, dont just create dofollow links by the 100s.... it wont appear too natural. mix them up using blogs and forums of high PR. Try and go niche, and EDU and GOV links are best if you want to do just 10 links say in a month. On dofollow, there is also a list here How to find Do Follow Blogs Search Engine | High PR Do Follow Blogs List

Also be sure to make sure it is still dofollow before you go crazy posting. Some that used to be dofollow are not showing up nofollow.

Just search in Google for things that are specific to certain forums, like phpbb or vBulletin.

For instance search for "inurl:memberlist.php + keyword"
    or "inurl:ucp.php + keyword"

You can also search for "powered by phpbb" but people frequently get rid of these so it isn't as effective.

As for finding out whether forums are do follow or not, you just have to manually check.

Easy. Go to Stop Forum Spam , type in spammers' name in Google, and you will find forums where they have left they URL's. Then using SEO spyglass you find every backlink that the spammer has made to his URL, and then you copy his links.
