How much does it impact SEO to Domain shift?

My current website domain such as- example.global

Now I own example.com but I don't have any immediate plans for its use but over time I would love for example.com to be the primary domain.

If I shift the domain example.global>to> example.com, How much does it impact on SEO and which steps need to follow mandatory?

    When you shift domain from example.global to example.com, first you need to 301 permanently redirect your old domain to new domain. Apart from that you also need 301 redirect all the internal pages of the old domain to the new domain. In this way, you can keep all the link juice that the old website pages have and it will help you to maintain the website ranking also.
