Duplicate content/website SEO

Idea: I create a website with the exact same website structure, css, etc but use two different domains and languages to serve 2 different target countries. Is there any problem with this (seo-wise) or the chance that google detects a website as duplicate and dont give rankings to both sites?

Website 1: example.de (everything in german)
Website 2: ejemplo.es (everything in spanish)

Has anyone done this maybe?
#content or website #duplicate #seo

    Hello There, as I experienced, if you using the same design and CSS for 2 or more site it doesn't affect but if you using meta functions same so it will affect your Global SERP! Currently, I am having 4 websites from different TLDs and languages but the same structure and CSS! Well, don't forget to validate that both sites correctly.... work as per TLD perspective...
    Good Luck

    Using the same design and CSS for 2 or more site doesn't make any negative impact on your website. But Yes, if you are using the same content on both sites it will be.

    It will be not duplicated if you define your meta lang on the header
    like this :
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html lang="es-ES">
    <head>

    Each domain, each lang define

    hi dear.if you have 2 different domain in different countries.its nice but don't keep content same. you should write articles for each seprate site.
    For example. If you write two article on seo,both article should be different from each other.you cant post one article for both sites because it will be copy content.i hope you will understand.

      But if the texts/content on each site is in a different language? Then its still an issue?

        hi Tom!
        To be frank, the exact algorithm Google uses to rank page is not in the public domain and it keeps on changing from time to time.
        moreover, Google has advance AI systems, that can easily decipher the content in page or website.
        I suggest you to install a SEO plugin, if haven't and try to follow its recommendations.
        A good start would be to edit the meta content/description of pages. try to phrase the same sentence in other words, so that the meta description may be similar but not the same.
        Hope this helps.

        No, you won't have any problems with your websites.

        Different languages are treated differently by Google. It doesn't matter you have the same design as long as you don't have 20+ spam websites with the same design.

      What if I delete and deindex content from one website/domain and use the same content on a new domain?

      Will google remember that it was already used before and detect it as duplicate content?

    I agree with what Martinsee said. As long as you're defining the language of your website/page, you should be fine. But then it wouldn't be duplicate content because it's in a different language (at least that's what I think).

    Also, on a side note, I'd recommend having unique content on both sites if you're serious about them and are planning to make money from them. Having the same design is not that big a deal as it is to risk both sites by using dup content. Just my two cents.

    But if you're doing this just to collect data and test things out, then go for it. And please do update the thread and let us know how it goes.

    I did run a similar test but it was a local dental site with several location pages that had same content. It didn't affect the SERPs at all.

    Let me know how it goes.

    Good luck!

      I decided to make one mulitlingual site due to SEO reasons. According to my research: If I build links for one subdomain it will give some sort of authority to the other subdomain automatically. This would be beneficial.

      Lets see how it goes.

    Yeah using this technique should be no problem. But there would be conflicts if you work with subdomains. But in this case it is okay.
