I went from a 3 to a 2 and for the life of me cannot figure out why? What is going on with Google PR's lately?

Hve no clue, but that's something you should not pay attention.

Jus keep working normally, get backlinks and everything will be back to normal.

    Hi miabella,

Lately? It seems to me that is how it's always been.

I have numerous web pages that previously had PR4 and then dropped to PR2-PR0, yet they are ranking very high in search results with more traffic then ever. Seems that PR doesn't mean much these days.

If you don't continue to build links and your site don't have good content to attract natural links, it will eventually drop ...!

Just build more backlinks and get more traffic, ignore the page rank, you should find more good traffic that converts !

This is how relevant PR is:

I have a shell site that I haven't built out yet. It has one 500+ word article on the home page, and Contact and Privacy Policy pages. The only "backlinking" I've done are bulk directory and RSS submissions using Mikes "bots."

With the latest update it's showing PR3.

    There's no understanding Google.

That's great! Your article has attracted a lot of good natural links! Congratulation - Pure white hat!

I shouldn't worry too much. It's the SERPS and the traffic that you're generating that should really matter. Have you seen these decrease, or just the PR?
