I created many backlinks lately, It has been more than 1 month. I have created backlinks through guest posting, directories, social bookmarking, articles on social media, re-submitted articles through other website. But I don't see any new backlinks in google search console since last 2 months. Also, ranking started dropping, despite many efforts. Has anything changed lately in google algorithm?

Just because you've created backlinks, doesn't mean G cares about them.
But then again 1, 2 months is not enough time for G. to rank your site.

You're more likely to look at the wrong property in your Search Console!
Although Google recently launched GSC domain-level properties, the GSC implementation is more likely to be a legacy one (when "https://www.site.tld", "https://site.tld", "http://www.site.tld" and "http://site.tld" were all considered to be entirely different websites in the search console!)
Make sure you have checked the right, latest version of your site in the GSC (Google Search Console) or sort the new domain-based GSC property verification (requires hosting access to verify the new version)
GSC is very sluggish, but you're looking at the wrong property in GSC if it takes that long to even see clicks (99 percent )

You need to wait for more time, or check if the number of backlinks you did indexed. maybe 1-2 weeks will be fine. Good luck bro.

Select the correct property first from GSC or you can alternatively directly click GSC option in case you have installed Google Site-kit plugin. Through Google site-kit you can easily check external links which are pointing towards your site and also how many Internal links your site have.

    Thanks in advance

Google will take time to index backlinks and in some cases it won't index the same. So just have patience.

Generally, Google takes time to index backlinks nowadays, If your guest link doesn't index within 2 weeks then you may create some social share for them. you need to wait for more time or check if the number of backlinks you did index. maybe 1-2 weeks will be fine. Good luck bro.

Yes you must select the correct property first from GSC. Also some of your backlins are maybe shitty and will show in GSC in 3 months or later. HQ backlinks usually shows fast in GSC.

Google search console doesn't provide 100% details from your backlinks profile. Big G is smarter enough to know that you are manipulating your site's rankings by implementing link schemes.

  • 3. Possible reasons

    1. Google is yet to find your links.
    2. Even if Google finds your links, it still takes some time to show up on GSC.
    3. Google doesn't think the links you built are good enough.

You don't have enough high-quality backlinks If the web pages ranking above you have way more backlinks, then this could be part of the reason you're not showing up in Google. To see the number of unique websites (referring domains) linking to your page, paste your URL into Site Explorer or our free backlink checker.

This could be due to several reasons E.g. your link may be not indexed/discovered by Google and don't want to index it due to several reasons . another reason may be your page may be no-followed or no-indexed.

Why are you using Search Console for checking your backlinks? I will suggest you to use any other tools like majestic, Ahrefs for checking your backlinks. However, it will take time to get an index.

These might be the possible reasons -

    1. It might take some time for Google to add the links to the search console. It takes time for Google to discover and index a link. Be patient.
    2. You might not have enough high-quality backlinks.
    3. You might not have verified very property versions of your domain.
    4. Also, the Google search console doesn't show every link it finds.

Below are some of reasons why you are not seeing backlinks in Google search console:

    1. Check if website verified with Google search console or not.
    2. If your website has not any backlinks.
    3. If you have just build backlinks but they are not crawled or index by Google
    4. Check your web pages not blocked in robots.txt file
    5. Check if your website is indexed in Google or it has penalized.

If all of the above good. Then you should wait and build quality backlinks it will definetely show in Google search console.
