Keywords - ordering of and plurals

I'd like a bit of advice on keywords and anchor text.

Lets say I've done analysis using google external keyword tool and get the following

green widget london 3600
green widget london 1300
london green widget 1600

It's not too difficult to write content using the above variations but what about anchor text?

Should I mix them up a bit or go for the top one "green widget london", will that also help if they search on "london green widget".

Also what about plurals, ignore or use these in anchor text as well?
I'm only asking as some people say mix up anchor text anyway to appear more natural and others say just stick to one.

    Depending on the niche, the singular and plural have completely different set of client mind sets that type them in.

    Example: selling an e-book on hamsters. Someone who types in the singular is much less likely to even own one let alone be in the market for extensive info on one. The person using the plural is either thinking about getting one or has just gotten one and wants to know how long they live (and how to make it live longer) so as not to traumatize their 8 yr old girl they are buying it (or have bought it) for. Much more likely to buy the e-book.

    how do we know? Research. Lol. use adwords, make a survey landing page. ask for info and an email or phone number. Talk or email more in-depth survey in return for free book after you write it. (The survey and talking to people that have clicked on the ad will also tell you what they are hoping to find, how hard it has been to find that info (if they even have) so you KNOW what to have in the book AND what bullet points to make in the sales page!

    (In this scenario, you would put the singular in the negative match area. It is a low converting keyword and Google will show plurals and singulars automatically if you don't.)

    Obviously you wouldn't use the singular for an anchor text either. Every niche is different, without testing, your guess is no worse than anyone Else's. If you do not want to test you may as well flip a coin as ask on a forum.

    (note: example stolen from Glenn Livingston. Lol. I am sure he won't mind, he uses that example all the time, it has become a classic example of the need to test.)

      Thanks that's a comprehensive reply for plurals!! I'm just trying to decide for myself, being a photographer some people query the singular and some the plural. Although the ratio of one to the other changes quite a bit depending on the county they put in as well!!

      Most do it singularly though, so that's what I'm going to focus on but put the plural a few times on my pages.

      How about the ordering of them?
