I'm new to adwords and would like to link directly to my affiliates sales letter page. So what should I put as the display url in my ad text?

The author of the book has his site(for example)
authorofbook.com

the affiliate link ive been given is along the lines of
affiliate.affiliatetracking.com/landingpage/mycode

which then redirects them to authorofbook.com/whatever

What is appropriate?
What will google like or not like?
Whats the best approach?

Just started the account and want to avoid any negative attention from google.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

    Google is restricting this now.

It is getting harder to do and you need to experiment. Sometimes your add won't get approved.

If it does it can be expensive as your landing page is seen as not relevant .

Try and be tricky about it and see what you can get away with.

Google will tell you if it is not approved.

      Thanks for the tip.

Anybody have any suggestions on how to be tricky about this?

If no one else is advertising that display url for the keywords you want to use, you don't need to be tricky.
Otherwise try a framed page, but a cookie isn't always placed when the page is framed.

So, are you saying that for each keyword if no one else is using the display url of authorofbook.com then I can use that?

Kinda new to ppc, thought it might lower my quality score if my display url doesn't match the actual page. But it actually will if I do it that way. I think you end confusing yourself half the time with IM. Thanks for the help everyone.
