Replace ancient, well-ranked site with new website?

I'd like some help please with a prospect.

This guy runs a carpet cleaning company, and their website is completely dated but because they've been around so long they have really good natural SEO, they always rank in the top 3 of searches and because of this they have no need to advertise as this provides them with all of their business.
The guy wants a new website but wants a formal guarantee that where they appear in searches won't change. Is this possible?

    Anything is possible. Just make sure the new design is fast and optimized well. Spread the guarantee over a three-month period to give you a chance to settle and improve things. Add a bit extra to your proposal too since he wants to play games with your time.

      Lead will buy if buying does not make his situation worse. It's quite reasonable to expect that. And, in this particular situation, the OP can guarantee it, because as Dave mentioned, if there are no url changes and no content changes, Google does not care. And this can be done without changing urls or content.

    Keep the same structure and content and just improve the appearance.
    Theme barely has any bearings on rankings but a good looking site will increase dwell time.
