Ezine Article on page 1?

I've been reading everything I can get my hands on and trying new things for the past month and a half on Internet Marketing and Adsense.

Created 3 blogs so far, written unique articles and published to 3 different article directories for each blog.

Traffic sources in Google Analytics show referals coming from the articles, but none of the blog sites are indexed by the Search Engines.

I understand general consensus is to be patient, so I will continue to monitor these over time.

The last blog I created seems to be a step in the right direction, I think.

The article published to EZine shows up on page 1, at spot #6 when searching for the keyword phrase. The blog backlinked in the article isn't even indexed though!

Any suggestions, or just steady as she goes until Search engines index the blog site? Which could take 2-6 months?

You can get indexed in 10 minutes... You do not have to wait no 2 months or longer. Simple bookmark your blogs. Digg - The Latest News Headlines, Videos and Images | Clipmarks - What are you finding on the web?

Use many other sites to bookmark also and you should be posting your articles on more than just 3 sites. You should have made sure to post your articles on your own site before submitting them to article directories.

  • I agree you should keep your original articles on your blog and then put similar articles on ezines, etc. If you are putting the originals on ezines, then maybe the search engines are seeing your blog(s) as duplicate content?
BTW, it continues to amaze me how quickly ezine articles get found and ranked. Google has a crush on ezines.

I published the original articles on my blogs first, and then rewrote them to publish to the article directories.

I know I will need to eventually publish to more than 3 directories, but I wanted to make sure I was going in the right direction and getting the right results before powering up the steam engine to bull doze every article site I commit the time to.

Thanks for the replies and direction!

Well, I submitted a new Digg for the blog site and Clipmarks. I made the digg a Favorite on the profile.

Searching Google for the URL of the blog, it showed up under the Digg system within a few minutes of the Digg. It also showed up under the Clipmarks system within 5-10 minutes also.

However, Yahoo doesn't see either one nor does the blog get listed in the SERPs. Oddly enough, Yahoo ranks my EZine article on page 1 at spot 1. lol. Boo! Hiss!

Granted this is a free blog site (blogspot.com) I'm trying to get indexed, not an actual registered domain running a blog theme.

Should I expect to get indexed just as quick under the free blogging site as an actual domain name using the Digg / Clipmarks / Other social bookmarking systems?

Or can I pretty much kiss these initial sites good bye and start the next round with what I've learned so far and make sure they get indexed before the article directories start cranking out the juice?!

So I decided to throw another log on the fire, and see how it burns this time.

I created a new free blog, wrote an article and then for kicks I submitted a new Digg for it and Clipmarks.

Search engines picked up the 2 references in each of the respective system, but nothing happened as far as indexing the new free blog.

I know a little about html, so I started analyzing the web page on Digg. What I discovered is they've added a "Nofollow" to external links they are unsure of.

I imagine if you're a regular authority figure this probably wouldn't be the case, but for people new to the industry they're going to have to work a little harder up front.

I did a google on 'Digg is nofollow' and the very first link was a blog entry on digg that the CEO talks about this change they recently made, posted in September of 2009.

It was the link spam they say they are attempting to clean up, but quality content will get the search engine juice they deserve once it has been discovered as worthy. How that happens or how long it takes is not talked about though.

I'm just trying to hammer down the basics and get free blogs indexed, been at it for about 2 months now and have yet to see one get indexed.

I have submitted articles to directories, etc. but I don't know if they're going through what has been commonly referred to as the "Sandbox" or if I'm just doing something wrong.

TheRichJerksNet has a reply to a post back in October where someone was asking about the latest trends with all these businesses / social media / etc. starting to plug into the "no follow" system. The comments stated "Clipmarks.com" is a no follow also, so what would be the next best way to get your free blog sites indexed so they start showing up in SERPs if they're correctly designed?

Use other bookmarking sites, if you use firefox get the "addthis" addon, it has like 150 bookmarking sites. Submit your site to rss agregators. Comment on blogs (and forums) write and submit more articles. Make a linkwheel and point it at your blogspot blog (bookmark each site in the wheel as well to get them indexed)

It can take time to get a site indexed even with all the above. Google is just unpredictable, sometimes you get a site indexed in minutes sometimes it takes a few weeks with the same things done. Serps are more dependant on your keywords, but if you are going for the same keyword as your EA article, you should get on page 1 fairly soon.
