Hello,
I analyzed a competitor's website using SEMrush and exported the data in order to create backlinks for my own website. However, after spending 4 hours on this, I didn't find a single backlink from there. Can you please suggest the best method that you guys use to "steal" competitor's website backlinks?

You have posted before that you do backlinks for 'clients' - how do you do that if you don't understand backlinking?

You asked a backlink question some time ago and the answers you got there also answer this question.

Yes, I posted before to confirm whether the specific type of backlink still works or not in 2023. In this post my main goal is to create backlinks on those websites from where my competitor getting.

I understand these days Google is more interested in quality content than backlinks.

  • Hm. I'm a newb asking stupid questions, but why would a competitor of you want to link back to you on his site, if you're a competitor of his?

It does not mean that I want to get backlinks from my competitor's website. I want to get backlinks on those websites from where my competitor getting a link. That website A linked to my competitor and I exported a report using SEmrush I found that website A linked to my competitor now I also want to get a backlink on that website A. There are a few methods like outreach, I can send them an email to give me a link. Another method is to comment and link to my website. I exported the report but was unable to find free backlinks.

Stop looking for the easy way. Simply asking for a backlink rarely works and when it does, it is usually a pretty worthless link from a site with no true authority (i.e. a really weak, worthless link).

Again, as I have already mentioned, figure out why they are linking to the other site and create content that they will actually want to link to, based upon what they have linked to in the past.

To me it seems pretty simple: site A links to Site B. If I wanted them to link to my site, I'd create content on the same topic as the page they're linking to on site B but better (newer info, more detail, easier to read, better to look at), then I'd call them and point out to them they're linking to an outdated page and tell them to look at my page.

If I did, indeed, create a better page, they'd want to link to mine... or to mine too.

If I did, indeed, do a good job, others would link to my page without me doing anything else.

Ah, but that requires work, knowledge. I see now. My bad.

Not sure exactly what you are asking. It's not 'stealing' to look at competitor's site to find good sites that might link to you....but what did you spend four hours doing?

Are you contacting those sites requesting a link? Or offering to submit a guest post? Or what?

I want to get backlinks on those websites from my competitors getting backlinks. For example, Competitors get a backlink from quora.com and I also want to get a backlink on that website. It does not mean that I want to get backlinks on competitor websites. Getting a backlink from Quora is easy but how to get a backlink on other websites from competitors getting a backlink? Such that if we export a report using SEmrush and want to create backlinks like there are comment backlinks, profile backlinks, social backlinks, etc.. But the problem is that I am able to get all those free backlinks.

Sometimes ago (good old days of ALEXA) you could snip on a competitors backlinks, sources and audience.

Today you need more of organic backlinks by building them altogether.
      Some sort of mutual relationship.

Figure out why they are linking to the other site. That is best done by seeing what they are linking to.

If they are linking to the home page, they obviously have some sort of relationship with that other site - it could be personal, it could be a reciprocal arrangement ("I'll link to your site if you link to mine" - something that is worthless, at least for SEO) or it could be an affiliate link.

Any other page usually indicates that there was something on that page that they thought their site visitors would be interested in. Create something better than your competition did or something related or contrasting. In this case, the other site is telling you what they like to link to. Give them what they want!

Hey, you have to analyze your competitors, but not copy all backlinks. They can be spammy
Choose various kinds of links which is better for your website.

Hey! I get where you're coming from. Instead of "stealing," focus on creating better content. Reach out to sites linking to your competitor and show them why your content is worth linking to. It's about quality over tactics.

You are asking the same question over and over - you need to take time to READ and UNDERSTAND the answers in this thread.

I understand what is competitor analysis and by using any tool you can get those backlinks from where competitors getting backlinks. But the question is how we can find free backlinks. All those backlinks that competitor is getting are natural and paid.
For illustration, you can think of comment backlinks that are easy to create, profile backlinks, and social links. My client doesn't want to invest in guest posting and niche edit links. This is a hard task for me to look for backlinks that are free. That's why I am asking.
Also, there is another question about citation building. I searched for citation websites and created my business profile there but now I am unable to find other citation websites. Also, web 2.0 sites. Can you help me with these sites? Do you have business listing websites? web 2.0 sites?

Well, then your client doesn't want his website to raise one iota in the search engines - at least from link building.

The links he wants you to get stopped working for SEO more than a decade ago. Sure, there are still some idiots out there who are telling people that they work but listening to idiots gets you nowhere.

Tell your client that you will be more than happy to keep taking money from him and building backlinks that will do absolutely nothing to help him. Or, maybe he might want to pay for something that actually does work!

I understand that - but the answers don't change because your 'client' wants them to. You've asked about profile links and other 'easy to create backlinks' before - and been told they are close to worthless.

If your client is paying you - don't you owe him the truth? If a client insists you use methods that do not work - you will never please that client.
