Google business profile

So it appears that Google is creating more business profile locationss for our business than we have sites - is this ai taking a wild guess? I'm trying to nail down our business profile for the London HQ on Google Maps, but apparently I need to create a film of me accessing the office from the street address, through the main serviced office doors, up the lift and through our own office doors. I mean, what? I work for a company that makes its money in security, and we're going to tell people exactly how to access our offices? Come on! Does anyone have any experience of another way to claim a profile? Welcome your experience!

Google isn't "guessing", extra profiles usually come from auto-generated data. If the video feels unsafe, try postcard/phone/domain verification instead, or contact GBP support to merge duplicates and accept documents in place of video.

Having google workspace email (having business domain) makes it easy to claim your ownership via phone or email.

Skip filming inside , use postcard, phone, or email verification and submit business docs
    I think this would help

Yeah, Google's video verification can feel over the top, but you don't need to reveal sensitive details, just enough to prove you actually operate there. Some people get around it by using utility bills, business registration docs, or even support chat with Google Business Profile to request manual verification.

That does sound like a tricky situation. In cases like this, the best approach is to stay patient and explore the verification options available while keeping your company's security concerns in mind.

Google is messy with duplicate profiles. If you dont want to film the walkthrough, try postcard verification or get on the phone with their support. It is a pain but it works.

Google sometimes auto-generates extra business listings if its system finds your name or address in multiple places online. You can request to remove or merge duplicates through Google Business Profile support.

For verification, the video method is common now, but you don't have to show sensitive areas, just enough to prove you have access (e.g., building entrance, signage, office door). If that's not possible, contact support and ask for an alternative verification (like postcard or email).

Tip: Keep your business name, address, and phone number consistent across all listings and websites to prevent new duplicates.

Google is changing the way it verifies local businesses nowadays. Try getting in touch with Google's team, they're available by calls or chat I think. Or alternatively, find where you can get a postcard or phone call for verification.

Yes! Google often autoâ€'creates extra business profiles from public data. The video verification is their way of confirming you actually occupy the location, but for a security company, showing internal access isn't safe.

    Here's what you can do:

Claim any duplicates and request merges.

Contact Google Business Profile Support and explain the security risk ask for alternative verification.

If video is required, only show the exterior, building entrance, and signage no sensitive internal areas.
