When you are putting in your meta keywords does it matter if you have a space in between commas?

Example: sample,sample or sample, sample
#commas #keywords #meta #space

Many will say the meta keywords don't matter full stop but, in answer to your question, AFAIK, the comma (not the space) is the seperator between the keywords/phrases. In other words, put in a space, or don't - as long as you have the comma, it won't matter (although you should, or course, put a space between the words in a keyphrase. (Hope that makes sense!)

If it were me, I'd put in the space, though only because I'm a pedantic fool, who like things to "look nice"

    Regards,
    Tommy.

        Code:
<meta name="keywords" content="Digg, pictures, breaking news, entertainment, politics, technology, headline news, celebrity news, offbeat, world business, sports, funny videos" />
This might give you a bigger picture, I reverse engineer on Digg site.

Anyone that knows how to rightly use the word "pedantic" is alright with me. Thanks.

it doesn't make a difference either way, the robots will strip any unwanted spaces...

worth bearing in mind though that Google 100% DOES NOT read META Keywords.

Is it real that Meta keyword ignored by Google? I never hear it before. If it real then Should we not use meta keyword for Google? Can you clear me about the matter please?

Might have something to do with where you live. You live
in a region of the world rife with spammers, scammers,
and others who make life hard on the rest of us.

Just the reason why google no longer gives a rip about
that meta, and hasn't for as long as I can remember.

        Tell your friends.

Google does read it, however. Old thread.

But hey, maybe someone will find it useful.

I should also say a comma or space does not matter.
A comma means nothing, but it makes people feel
        good.

Squidoo uses it to the max, but not for google. They must
have some internal algo. They insist you use it, and fill
it up. They insist you have at least 5 or you don't get
        100%

Other search engines use them so so why not optimise them? It's not as if it takes any time at all

You made a good point. I know they don't matter for Google but for the other search engines it may still make a difference.

While I understand the argument for not revealing your "money keywords" in your metatags - ignoring meta keywords seems somewhat like not putting house numbers on your home because the mailman ignores it.

I always put the space after the comma. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not, but all I know is what i'm doing is working.

Having space or not having these doesn't matter as most of the HTML parsers trim off the extra spaces automatically to split out each word between commas. So use as you are comfortable with.

I don't really care about the meta-keyword tag, when I do image alt text I don't use a blank space after the comma & rank thumbnail images in Google organic SERPs. Just saying, the image alt-text is enough info. to tell me Google doesn't care about the blank space after the comma.

    Example:
    <img src="/images/keyword.jpg" alt="keyword here,keyword here,keyword here" width="400" height="400" />
