Anyone Using Bing For PPC?

I started an adcenter campaign yesterday, no impressions or clicks yet. I will keep you updated. As much as adwords p.sses me off, you will not get the same kind of traffic from either bing or yahoo.

Yes I have been using Bing for some time, the clicks are very slow no matter what price you seem to bid but the overall close rate is much much higher. My google conversion on my best ppc campaign is around 150 per sale wheras with Bing it is only around 25 per sale, the problem is that whereas with Google the clicks can run into 1000's a day dependent on budget I struggle to pull 15 - 20 clicks a day from Bing.

Thanks for that. Guess I dont need to rush right over and sign up. 1 in 150? I have to start focusing much more on those type numbers. My method now is crude to say the least, if its not converting I pause the campaign. I mean if you don't convet in 150, there is nothing to say that the 151Th wont, but also isnt saying that 450th will. Mine crude formula right now is if i spend $10 I need to have sold at least $15.

Know people are using all types of different formulas for this and have to work on my, but so much more pressing matters to work on first.

I get converting traffic for less CPC than google but the amount of traffic is very low.

Yeah, this was my next question. Is it worth it to try Bing and Yahoo for PPC now that Google has slapped us all into oblivion.

If Bing and Yahoo are not that great, 1 poster indicated he found better places to advertise. If you don't mind, where were they?

I've been using adcenter a couple of years and have had some nice conversions. The only problem with it is there is little volume, you you won't get what you get with google. I would give it a try but stay away from Yahoo. They are complete garbage.

I'd have to agree about Yahoo. I noticed a large amount of clicks with few conversions and wrote a script to watch for duplicate IP's and click fraud.
It turned out about 80% were duplicate clicks I was charged for that Yahoo did not catch. I presented the evidence to Yahoo and got refunded most of my money back to my account.
I repeated this several times until the funds were used up. Needless to say I never went back.
It may just be my niche as I know there are several shady characters out there causing havoc.
I have yet to try Bing but am thinking about a trial run.

Yahoo sucks because I get foreign leads. I specify to just target UK but if a nigerian goes to yahoo.co.uk he sees my ads. The amount of wastage due to poor quality traffic from yahoo is really frustrating as the conversion rate is gernerally quite low. But it still works, just not as well.

I am using yahoo right now. I am getting conversions, but it does seem like the click fraud is high. MSN is providing hardly any traffic. I would like to learn Adwords, but I can't seem to get any traffic at all in my industry with them. They charge more then I can afford no matter what words I use. Is there a program to use that makes adwords affordable? I'm sure that there has to be a way to utilize adwords. I would love any help if anyone has it!

Jayson with any ad network the most you can pay is what you bid, so in effect your range or budget is all you need to worry about.

that being said it is affordable if you learn to work within your conversion rates and expected returns.

It is very possible to run very low cpc settings once you have established your account / campaign, at present i am running a few of my accounts @ a .02 cpc level which is really running it fine but i do not get every click and that is fine as making profit comes first.

so in short do your maths and only bid what you feel is comfortable for you to make a profit.

many people will over spend on a key resulting in a loss, these people will not last forever so just sit back and wait for the gaps in the market and you will be fine.

I hate how everyone complains about bings traffic. Yes there are fewer uses, but like everyone else says, the conversions are much better. If you want more traffic from Bing, than try expanding your market, and see who else you can get to buy your stuff.

Word Of Caution: Adcenter is starting to crack down and suspend accounts as well, due to all the FTC crap. So I wouldn't try to do anything in Adcenter, that you wouldn't do in adwords. Just be careful.

I've managed a few PPC campaigns in the past and have found that Bing/MSN actually converts at a higher % than Google in many niches.

Don't get me wrong for total impressions, visitors, and revenue Google is king. But don't rule out Bing before at least trying it.

Conversion rate wise this is the trend I (usually) experience in the US:

1. Bing
2. Google
3. Yahoo
4. Everybody else

For Total Revenue, Traffic, Etc in the US:

1. Google
2. Yahoo (Although I think this will change soon.)
3. Bing
4. Everybody else.

Very interesting that some of you are prepared to use a smaller search engine like Bing!

Because there is not the volume of traffic or even, advertisers, I expect that
the click fraud will be lower.

It is interesting that you say that conversions are better than Yahoo, but hey! If it turns a profit - albeit a very small profit - then that's a good deal!

I recently tried sms text ads on the mobile phones across the USA and the click fraud was horrendous! People kept clicking just to get rid of the 'spammer' and cost him a lot of money! (I won't try that again!) 218 unique and 2000 clicks total! Not one sign-up!

Anyone tried Miva? Another small search engine - I got the exact same results!
