Hi Folks,

Has anyone had this happen to you, I'm fairly new to IM and I certainly don't want to do things wrong however Google sent me this email , they did not send me a warning or anything just kicked me out no questions asked.

I sent them a reply asking for some help etc but no reply yet. Here is the landing page,Cell Phone Treasure can anyone tell me where I violated Googles TOS?
Did anyone here have this problem and find a way to get back in

Thanks Folks,

David

Here is the email I eceived

Dear advertiser,

We are writing to let you know that your Google AdWords account has been disabled due to one or more serious violations of our advertising policies related to Landing Page and Site Quality. As a result, your ads will no longer run through the Google AdWords system and we are unable to accept advertising from you in the future. Please note that future accounts you open will also be disabled.

As part of our commitment to making the AdWords experience safe and effective for our users and our advertisers, we routinely review the landing pages that our advertisers promote through our search and content networks. If we find that an advertiser has submitted a landing page that egregiously violates our policies, we reserve the right to take immediate account-level action.

Landing pages advertised via AdWords must have relevant, original content, and must be transparent about the nature of the business being promoted. Further, advertising certain types of sites will lead to immediate account disabling. These types of sites include, but are not limited to:

* Sites that charge users or collect personal information in exchange for a product that is never delivered
* Sites that charge for "free" software
* Sites that trick users into paying for fake or poor-quality content
* Sites that charge users for information that makes unrealistic promises of financial or personal gain
* Sites that install malware software on a visitor's computer

Please note that this action is related to sites that have recently been advertised through your account. In a review of your account history, we found that your account had submitted a least one site that egregiously violated our advertising policies. Although you may have removed these sites since our latest review, advertisers that have a history of promoting these types of sites are still subject to account-level disabling.

You can review our Advertising Policies, including our Landing Page and Site Quality guidelines, by visiting: AdWords Help
You may also review the complete AdWords Terms & Conditions here: https://adwords.google.com/select/tsandcsfinder

I've read a lot of discussions in various forums of people getting kicked out. Anyone here would just be guessing. Only Google really knows and unfortunately you'll probably never get an answer from them.

My guess is that the site gives no valuable information and links to a site that is promising "get rich quick" type stuff and using Google's logo as a marketing tool.

I still have adwords, but they gave me the boot on adsense.

        There are alternatives for both.

Don't get too worked up over it. I know it is not a great feeling, especially when you don't think you've done anything wrong.

It is more frustrating trying to fight it - it's their site.

        Just find some new ways.

Sorry to hear about Adsense. But really situations like this can be a great opportunity. I remember when I got hit hard with one of the Adwords quality score slaps in 2008 it really woke me up and forced me to learn more about SEO and other traffic methods.

yup it is hard not to get to worked up about this however as you folks point out their are other places but it would be nice if they would let you know what's up and give us chance to fix it.

I will let you know if I ever get a reply , but I'm sure I wont hear anything. We should all ban together and go after them

          Cheers

That's some powerful Google language. Too bad they aren't more specific about what the actual reason is. Good luck...hope you get a more detailed response. It could really help others to know what to do and what not to do.

Only G would know exactly why, but my quick view of that is that i would class that as a bridge page, in that the only intention of that site is to place a "bridge" between your affiliate link and that product.

There is really no other value at all in the site for a visitor, i have not studied the end resulting product in detail as to if that may have also been a factor but in many ways

the bridge or just a connector type page would be the first thing that would have caused it

I am sorry for your account, as i am still confused as to why a approach is made by G ? over just stopping the ad from running.

I would also like to see a system in place where people could test an ad or have it approved before running as i really believe people want to do the right thing here and many are being slammed

I also wonder where the responsibility comes into this with the affiliate networks and as to why they would not have a system of alerts as to what ads are google approved or not.

Use the email option to reply and request a re opening of your account and i wish you well.

your site is just 1 page that links to an affiliate offer. Get a VCC and setup a new account and this time record email addresses and send out the affiliate link via email.

Dude....welcome to the club....As you have now seen, many of us on this forum and other IM'ers got this exact same email, with no warning and no chance to correct what we may have been doing wrong!

    My question now is:

Is it worth it to try Bing and Yahoo?

I know Google holds the largest market share or search engine traffic but is it worth it to market on Bing and Yahoo?

It's funny how this whole thread is so closely related to the other popular marketing technique.

This seems to be the PPC advertising version of the whole EZA/article marketing dilemna.

OK, it's not really funny - but it is interesting to see the similarities and apply it to the big picture.

Not sure what the connection is. If you read the Google Adwords Help forum many of the advertisers were advertising normal products (like coffe or pneumatic seals) with no forced continuity or anything potentially sinister - although the pneumatic seals one seemed that they didn't have a privacy policy.

Here are some additional reasons (some of which are VERY broad) Google states they will disable accounts:

We cannot reveal our specific filtration methods for measuring site quality or triggering account suspension. However, the unacceptable business practices and policy violations for poor-quality landing pages for which Google will disable AdWords accounts include (but are not limited to):

      - Data collection sites that offer free items, etc., in order to collect private information
      - Arbitrage sites without relevant and original content that are designed for the purpose of showing ads
      - Affiliate sites without relevant and original content that are designed to drive traffic to another site with a different domain
      - "Get-rich quick" sites
      - Malware sites that install software on a visitor's computer
      - Poor comparison shopping or travel sites whose primary purpose is to send users to other shopping/travel comparison sites, rather than to provide useful content or additional search functionality

if you ask me, it's because you are promoting and affiliate product... Google doesn't like affiliates right now, and they are cracking down on them.

None of your ads are running - can we help?
No Google, actually i am doing GREAT with all your ads paused, and i am also not intending to re-activate them in the near future.

Also..thanks for helping me skyrocketing my sales using article marketing.

If you do affiliate marketing, its probably the best thing happening to you that they banned your account. Don't worry about quality score, landing site "quality" etc..etc..believe me...you will be WAY better off.

Edit: That mail IS indeed harsh...what on earth did you promote?

No its not, but believe me that PPC + Aff Marketing (Clickbank, CPA etc.) is VERY hard and *rarely* profitable. (Exceptions might very well exist). I did PPC and affmarketing for two years, i intensively studied and learned adwords, i read many courses etc.

I know about Quality Score, landing page quality. I know what the different matching types are, i am very good at keyword research.

STILL - the best thing i did is suspend ALL my ads and focus on other, more profitable strategies instead.

    1) Organic traffic from SEO efforts<---
    2) Article Marketing <---

    Just to name a couple.

PPC certainly has its uses, but affmarketing is NOT it. I already posted a few threads in the past where i "clearly" showed with simple math that it just CAN NOT work, taking average conversion rates, CTR rates, payouts and CPC into account.

I used to sell a course for a certification. A certain chinese company sold a way of cheating the exam. After a long struggle we managed to get google to ban anyone advertising the product. Did this stop them? Not at all.

They just registered a new account each week. When we reported them they got shut down, but a day later they were back up and running. And this was some people doing something seriously dishonest.

Lots of people are abusing google hard and google want to make a show that they are keeping up a certain standard of quality. It seems like affiliates are getting caught in the cross fire. But if you are determined, nothing google can do will keep you from registering another account as soon as you get banned.

Address verification service + virtual credit card = unlimited google adwords accounts.

(same way people are spamming craigslist)
