    If there is your keyword inside your URL then it won't be a problem;

    yourkeywordphrase.com - Good to get SERP for low competition niche, need backlinks
    if your competition is difficult.

    Go for .com 1st then look for .org, .net would be 3rd choice.

    from my experience, a phrase with more than 4 words are not doing well in therm of serp, even though it is exact keyword.

      I'll have to agree with Simon, that the SERPS seem to have a threshold of words in a URL. Beyond three or four, I think they take points (albeit minor) off, as it can look spam-ish.

      That said, I haven't done an extensive study of this.

      I'd go with a lengthy URL if the words are part of a cohesive phrase that people are searching for, such as a song lyric or something.

      Otherwise -- and if the longer URL is your only option -- I'd actively add plenty of totally unique, high quality content to the website, so it counteracts any demerits from the URL name itself.

      I don't know whether there is any special SEO strategies for site with that type of URL. But I think too much lengthy URL is not a good idea from SEO perspective!

    I'm really not sure on this myself - I've read a lot about keeping the URL short.

    I tell clients to apply the "radio test" to a new domain: is it short and sweet enough to be given over the radio and people remember it.

    But in SEO terms, I would love to know if anyone has any experience in ranking sites with long domain names.
