Which is more significant; Google PR or Alexa PR. I hear a lot of people say that they both work hand-in-hand.
What is your opinion
#alexa #google

Neither one means anything .... PR is "page rank" many misunderstand it and assume posting a profile on a site that has a PR 6 will be good for backlink juice. Fact is that new profile you just created is a PR 0.. The sites index may be a PR 6..

As for Alexa... Any and all stats programs are WRONG! The only stats that can possibly be correct are the stats program that comes with your hosting as they are tied into the actual server logs. Alexa cannot in no way tie into your server log files.

Alexa Smith On the other hand is da bomb!!

      Bingo.

In the words of Frank Kern, 'You can't take Alexa rank of Page Rank to the bank'.

someone once turned down my link exchange offer on the grounds that my site wasn't ranking well in alexa. He said "my site is somewhere around 400,000 while yours is around 15,000,000 on alexa". What do we call that person? And he is a well respected IM person

I have a site that gets 450+ unique per day, guess what the Alexa rank is ?? Below 18 million.. So if anything Alexa.com is a huge laugh...

Wow thats insane man. Never had a site like that with that many hits with such a high rank.

I have noticed that internet related topics tend to get the highest Alexa ranking because more people in that niche have the tool bar installed.

            Forums get a mega boost.

Actually I have Alexa.com blocked from that site ... Point is you cannot measure a site by some stats program that does not have access to your server logs.

I am a website developer .. I just build a script to block who I want to block ... Some sites I have entire countries blocked again not only is Alexa and other stats programs wrong but you have no idea who is blocking what on their servers.

The only one that will ever know their true stats on a server is the site owner himself.

Unless you are selling links, neither make a difference. Focus on your serps and increasing conversions.
