Buying Expired Domains For Seo

I've been considering the possibility of buying aged domains so I can use them to create a high quality blog network for some of my main websites.

I am considering setting a few of these domains up on Seo hosting so that they are on separate C Class Ip's.
The websites could easily be managed by purchasing the Bloghatter software found on this forum.

I checked out Godaddy.com auctions but it seems they don't have PR listed together with the domain and its pretty hard to check each domain individually.

So.. I have a few questions if there's anyone out there who operates a similar setup
1) Any tool to sift through Godaddy's auctions and analyze the websites?
2) How do I know a domain hasn't been blacklisted for spamming? Do i just check if its indexed or not?
3) Another source of expired domains besides Godaddy?

    Hey Daviloi

Yes I use this method, and I use register compass, this tells you all sorts about the domains including PR,backlinks, age and musch much more. I have bought 2 domains so far both PR3's. If you are going to sign up for it if you wouldnt mind using my affiliate link, that would be great. The service is $30 per month but well worth it when you think how much it costs just to buy a high PR link.

    Here is my link thanks:

    Yep.

You just need to do your research to make sure you're not buying blacklisted sites or faked PR.

From what I hear, domains are dropping like crazy now that the economy has crashed and people can't afford to hoard thousands of parked domains anymore.

after you buy an expired domain, do you build a new blog or do you try to re-build the old site layout?

Im planning to build a new blog instead of using the old website. I see age as a bigger benefit in buying expired domains as opposed to PR. Pr I feel can be built with some good backlinking.

Usually it's a brand new site. If a site has a lot of good links pointed to something like preowneddomain.com/blog or a subdomain, I'll use that setup or do a permanent redirect in htaccess.

About eight years ago I bought some expired domains with dmoz listings. Sites created on those domains are still going strong and make money-

Make sure you put up quality content and continue to get releant backlinks.
