PR2 with a test page so strange

OK so I build tons of websites and one that I haven't used in months shows as a PR2 and it's only a one page site with nothing special at all. Not one back link built to it, no real information on the site, terrible on-site SEO and over all it looks like crap.

On all of my main money sites I've spent tons of time to get it perfect and have hundreds, even thousands of back links and perfect on-page SEO but they are only ranked PR1. So strange. Any of you noticing strange stuff like this? I want to spend some more time to examine how this is possible. Google is simply a strange beast.

    1. You don't know how many backlinks it has because Google doesn't report them all to you.
    2. The way your site looks to a crawl bot is not the same way you see it. A bot can't tell if it's pretty or butt ugly.
    3. You've done something on the site that creates value in the eyes of Google. Think about that... figure out what it is and cash in.

    I know a person that makes $40K a mnnth from Adsense. And his sites all look like crap. And they all target high paying keywords and have ads right where they belong. And they have almost NO Graphics what-so-ever. They basically look like plain white pieces of paper with adsense and simple text.

    He's done a great job of figuring out what the Google bot wants then feeding it.

    Thats great. Many use some auto genearting plugins and generate lots of article in no time to earn a big adsense amount.

    I don't know the real answer, just a guess maybe in google's eye it unique - it could be your site is ranking high in some sets of keyword you're not aware.

    You can install google analytics to find out where traffics are coming from (what search terms).

    My vote goes to Google being a strange beast. I have sites that rank and sites that don't and sometimes it's hard to figure out what the difference is. There has to be something right? Take a good hard look at and see if you can duplicate it....

      It really seems strange! But it's also true that there might be some positive reasons that we're unable to find out that Google noticed in your site and hence you got that PR. Anyway congratulation!

    No one here knows how Google ranks or consider a particular backlinks. Its hard to tell thta even after having no backlinks your website has PR2.

    The site is Economy Inn - OK. I checked today and now I'm seeing that Yahoo local and some other travel sites found this page and made links. I'm up to 37 backlinks now without doing any work. That's awesome.

    what's strange is that I have another site that's the same age with around 176 links showing but I know I made around 500 links and it's only a PR0. It's showing up higher in the SERP for many keywords but still has a low PR. I just don't get it.
