Yahoo + Bing Beat Google?

I was curious, so I did a Compete.com search, and it turns out they do beat Google in terms of combined traffic. Here's my search:

Site Comparison of google.com (rank #1), bing.com (#12), yahoo.com (#2) | Compete

Pretty interesting. I also tried this with Alexa, but it seems like it's a pretty close battle. And Yahoo teamed up with Bing, I think, right? Well, they're a good team - Bing is just that extra little nudge to push them over the edge.

If two billion-dollar companies can't beat Google, I don't know what will. I love Google, but I also hate having to be at the mercy of their will every second... I will give them this though - their search is the best damn search around with finding relevant sites.

Here's my Alexa comparison, by-the-way:

google.com - Site Info from Alexa

You'll need to type in Bing.com, and Yahoo.com into the compare searches thing at the bottom.

I think bing can have a good chance if they are working together with yahoo, but certainly not in a close time. Google still dominated the search engine industry right now, the others just have to catch up

No Bing and Yahoo both can't beat Google I visit your links where you are showing total number of visitors, on Bing it is true that those visitos are gone there for search but on yahoo am I am not agree with you, because million of people using yahoo mail and some want to play games, buy some thing online and want to read news etc, but they all not go there for search so, Bing and Yahoo both did not beat Google, because Google result ares accurate and people all over the world turst on Google.

Google is the king of search engines now & the additional free services provided by Google are just extraordinary, that's why people love Google products.Just think, webmasters like us,what products of Google we're using now to optimize our sites & how we're analyzing keyword researches & competitors analysis with Google products. So we'll never leave these products.

But in terms of search results I prefer Yahoo rather than Google.Lets see what happens in the future of these companies market status.

I've always heard that Google has about 70% of the search engine share. The only reason that yahoo get's a lot of traffic is simply because of it's page format(love the news headlines) and e-mail. But if I need to search, I use the Google addon at the top of my Firefox. Best of both worlds.

I think part of the problem with those statistics is that Bing is counting all the visitors that it gains when people sign out of hotmail and are transported to Bing's home page.

I know I end up there a couple of times per day, but never use their search.

Google has between 70-85% of the total search volume, depending on whose statistics you believe and most people are saying that number is only growing.

Bing will beat google ? Never. I just created my site two days ago and i didn't submitted to google or any search engine. But 1 hour before i can see google bot crawling my feeds and pages. Google is more concerened about content as it is making them money, Bing+Yahoo are more interested in sponsored searches or DMOZ listings, google ahead of them and gives better control over search terms. You can even check this by comparing search string results with google and bing. Yahoo and Bing can beat Google ? I doubt.

I think your numbers are wrong. Yahoo is a massively popular site, but not for search. News and eMail are it's biggest attractions.

Google stays on top because it's much harder to trick than the other SEs. Google care about quality results, the other SE's don't seem to. Until MicroSlop or Yahoo come up with something better, Google will carry on being number 1.

More competition the better, hopefully new players enter the arena. If yahoo restructured their site, made it much more simple (less advertising) more like googles page, i think it will have a positive impact (it would be a risky move)
