Pay-per-Click advertising, or PPC is where you pay a certain amount of money to the entity who displays your ad ( generally a search engine such as google, yahoo, or MSN, but can also be on other types of advertising networks) when they click on your advertisement (banner, link, or text ad copy).

How you go about implementing a PPC ad is:

Find a PPC network. Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing are a couple of the most popular. You would simply set up an account with them choose some keywords that best suit your product of offering, choose how much per click you are willing to pay each time someone clicks on your ad, build a text our display ad (banner) and you are ready to go!

The best way to make this effective is to make sure you are choosing keyword which are low-cost and have less competitors advertising on them. This will take some research, but there are good tools our there to help you do just that, and most are free...

Here is a good free tool from Google to help you research keywords. There are others out there, but I like this one... https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

    Hope that helps....

    Cheers,

    Justin

Pay per click (PPC) is an internet advertising model used on websites, in which advertisers pay their host only when their ad is clicked. With search engines, advertisers typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market. Content sites commonly charge a fixed price per click rather than use a bidding system.

PPC is pay per click advertising. I recommend signing up to Google Adwords and Yahoo's program as well. I have found that yahoo tends to be a little cheaper per click and the quality seems to be better. You can't ignore google though for its volume of traffic. With your ads on google pay attention to the quality score. Make sure your ad has the search term keywords in it, if you have a low quality score 5 or less you will end up paying more per click than your competition. To get you started many web hosting providers give you a $25 or $50 credit for Google adwords, I think hostgator dot com does.

The top 2 Pay per click advertising providers that I recommend are Google Adwords and Yahoo Publishers. I do not know of anything better at this time.

PPC is pay per click advertising. Basically you are participating in an auction that is based on supply and demand principles. The more in demand your keywords are the more it will cost you to use that keyword to trigger your ad. (Keywords are words that people type into their search engine to look for items or information.) For example if you have developed a weight loss product you may want people to type in weight loss in order to find you advertisement. But since there are many weight loss products out there others also want people to see their ads when they type in weight loss. you will have to outbid your competition in order for your ad to show before a competitors ad. The more competitors the more you will ahve to pay to outbid them.

Google, yahoo and msn are at the top in terms of search.

    Hope this helps.
