Building Large Sites with Forum

Hey guys,
It has been long since I posted back on here. My adsense journey has been very exciting. Many ups and downs.
I chose a niche in that is not product based but it is a hobby. The Exact Search Volume is 8k a month. So I bought the .com and now it ranks #8 within 2 weeks. I have one article and get around 40 unique a day.
I want to build a community around this topic and into a large website. I came across some threads back in september on some individuals doing so, but for the life of me I cannot find those threads.
What would be your suggestion on creating this kind of site? How should I approach this? I want to install a forum asap but I only have one page of content.
Any input or reference to other threads would be greatly appreciated.
