    Check out Angela's backlinks. Just do a google search for backlinks and her article comes up number 2. It is a goarticles page but will tell you exactly how to get some great backlinks from high pagerank sites including some .edu sites.

    Try starting of with profile links. Angleas backlinks is really good. Then write some articles, spin them and distribute them to article directories.
