Is there any point to do seo anymore

I recently noticed that google has started to personalize my web site and some other in serps. So Do you think there is any point to do build backlinks and seo anymore since results will vary for everybody. This is something i hate about IM things can change in a snap. I learned seo for a year and now the whole seo game has changed

    Keep in mind that 1/3 of google searches have never been done before, so they can customize it to an extend, but when the person searches the one off (your product or service), you will be waiting.

      Yup i know that, but serps have started to show personalized results even when i am not logged in

    If a video submission can get indexed in hours and get a top ten listing, particularly in say local search why bother doing technical seo, yes for sure in competitive markets multimedia may not show up and back link reputation will count most, but I think the idea is to be flexible as a seo marketer and not a seo technician.

    If a video submission can get a top ten listing in say hours whats the point in doing technical seo particularly in say local search. In competitive markets multimedia may not show up, but I think the answer is to be flexible i.e. by becoming a seo marketer as well as an seo technician.
