Hey Everyone,

For the longest time I was spelling it Ad-cents because I thought it was one of those things you have on your site to possibly pay for hosting.

However, I've recently read a post on a how to manage money blog about how to make money with a blog. He shows that a faily high portion of his income comes from Adsense. He was truthful in that id didn't come right away or until his traffic was pretty high, but everything in, his blog has replaced his corporate income.

What are some things we could do to increase our adsense revenue.

Thanks,

Guy

  • What are you asking?

I had a $5.50 cent click from a blog of mine yesterday that normally pulls $.50 to $.80 per click.

There is great money to be made with Adsense.

You MUST target your customer. You don't just throw up pages in a "High Paying Niche" then chase down backlinks. Waste of time.

    1. Make sure you have content that your Visitor/Customer is looking for.
    2. Make sure your ADS from ADSENSE "Match" the USER INTENTIONS - Your visitor MUST want what is in the Ads
    3. Put the ADS where they can click on them above the fold. The reality is very few people read - they "Scan" pages... and few will scroll... so don't make them!!!
    4. Pick Niches where Advertisers Spend Freely
    5. Use the fewest Number of Ad Blocks you can and test.

Now for a very important part of getting paid. Your Site MUST RANK IN GOOGLE the higher you rank - and it's PAGE NOT SITES that rank the higher your potential payout.

It's Marketing 101 - Focus on the customer.

Over and over I see the same old pleas... "How do I make more". Well the REAL ANSWER is GIVE YOUR CUSTOMER WHAT THEY WANT!!!

There is not magic color or size or placement that will just make you money. You have to integrate the ads with your site, put them where they can be seen, get quality targeted traffic, pick the proper niches, and make your site rank.

      Hey,

I appreciate your input. We're personal finance specific content. Our traffice is just now getting to 10k per month. We've just reached a pr3. I suppose that will increase things a bit.

I'll take the rest of your advice to heart as well and see what we could do to add more value to our readers.

      Thanks again, Guy

Use the large block i think its 336x280 above the title of each post. Keep your posts on topic it helps the adsense to deliver relevant ads. This always works for me.

If you get in the habit of producing good content on multiple sites, and better yet, have people submitting good content, over time your revenue will increase. I started in around 2001 or 2002 and have made xxx,xxx

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

We're working on it. I'm always looking for article exchange partners and link exchanges with other personal finance sites. Our traffic is moving up quickly as has our pr to 3. We're now in the top 200 personal finance websites as rated by wisebread . com

We must be doing something correctly.

It just seamed as though the adsense was unrewardingly taking up space and making the posts look like sales pages.

But in your opinion, adsense is good, keep it and just make sure we're doing everything else correctly?
