Switching from Blogger to wordpress

I have top level domain for my blogger but now I want to switch to wordpress as wordpress is much better in everything from blogger. My blogger blog has some baclinks to main page and also has deep links so is it safe to migrate to wp without any significant effect on rankings. As every link address will be changed while switching to wp. Except main domain. I am quite confused with it as I don't like dealing with this technical stuff, so please explain in simple language.

There is no reason to switch.

I actually switched the other way. My domain wordpress blogs
were not cutting it. Blogspot seems to get a lot of google juice.

Keep the blogspot, start a different blog with wordpress. Link them
together. You can build backlinks using the blogger.

My blogspot blogs show up higher on google. They are SEO'd right
out of the box. And owned nd backed by google.

It sounds as if you want something more than a blog.

    Bottom line: Keep the blogger.

Thanks paul for reply. My reason for switching is wordpress even with default theme more professional compared to blogspot (which looks like noob bog even with best theme). And I find wp to manage and score for seo more easier than blogger.

My personal choice too would be Wordpress, as its more flexible when you are hosting it on your own rather than the free hosted blogger/wordpress platforms.

But when you are trying to shift the blogs, you have to take care of many things. The URLs extensions in each page etc. are all going to be changed and so the indexed pages info in google might be affected. You can work on having the same URLs for the pages if the blog is not that big already. But if it is huge enough, its hard to shift to wordpress without any changes being seen.
