Sitemap maybe ? Google is pretty cleaver and normally updates and crawls pretty quick if your site is established , however if its pretty new it doesnt hurt resubmitting the sitemap after updating the site to give google a nudge

    Bookmark new page added
    Ping

Going away from WP might have been a mistake

You could do it through site maps or refreshing the google code in your pages with new ones.

If you have a sitemap, or even if you have regular text links, google will be very able to keep itself updated about your site.

Pinging will probably not help much.

If google is not checking your site regularly, then it seems to put low value on your site. Try posting some backlinks, or a press release.

The 404 error make no sense unless there is a place somewhere that links to these pages that do not exist anymore.

Most important: get a google account, and use the webmaster tools. You will quickly see what google gets from your site.

If Google has indexed your pages and you suddenly remove them, it can result in a 404 error and that can stay on webmaster tools for months. Don't worry about it, just get on with promoting your business.

    Hi guys,

I'm interested in the thoughts on this, I also modified a website for a client recently, (changed there hosting aswell) and it seems to be giving the 404 errors still. I have done as mentioned and set up google accounts etc but still no variation. Im also worried this may have a negative effect on the website? if you guys can shed some light on this for me I'd be grateful :-)
