'scuse me if people know this already, i didnt:

TouchGraph | Products: Google Browser

Check it out! Its basically displaying site/web structure according to a keyword.

It makes it very clear how Gogle ranking and relationships actually work since it basically displays how the web for a keyword is made of keyword relationships and mini-networks pointing to other related networks aka LINK WHEELS. And how those natural (or artificial ) linkwheeled sites strengthen each other. Its basically a visualization of SEO/Google rankings!

It looks very impressive but I'm unsure how to use it? I've run it for a website I work with but what next?

I'm a little confused on how to used this as well. It seems to be just showing me sites in my category. What am i suppose to be looking for? Would be awesome if they did a backlink one.

Yes. I would agree that this looks very insightful but its very complicated and un-clear on how we should use it to our benefit. I tried running a few of my urls and a few of my keywords through that website but I didn't get any results.

Correction. I got the application to work but its showing some weird results. For example I ran through one of my best ranking keyword phrases and it shows some of my competitors sites but not mine..even though I rank better than the sites that did show up.

Could you explain what this actually means a little bit better...I'm still an infant at SEO so some things are a little confusing still..

      Hey George,

      Yes, this is GOLD!

I'm no SEO expert, but I know enough to be dangerous.

SEO is all about link building and this tools practically gives you the link wheel for any keyword.

For people not knowing how you could use this, here are some examples:
      • Finding places to get links
      • Finding you competitors that have the most relevance for a keyword
      • Finding out if you site has any relevance for a keyword
      • Looking at the structure of the sites on this graph as a model for what to do
      • Etc.

The list goes on and on.

I am going to save this one.

This is why I love this forum!

That's how I see it. I look at the graph like a big google made linkwheel.

I'm going back to the drawing board to see how I can link my linkwheels into Googles idea of the linkwheel. This could be interesting.

This is a powerhouse. I have used this exact strategy and it works so nicely. Through using this method, one can get into the top of google. If this is done properly and you follow what the map is showing you, you will probably not only get you main site into the top 1o but probably a few other pieces of content.

One simple thing you can do: If you see a relevant network to a subject....try to get "in" that network. If you see a powerful network/link-wheel all related to some keyword you want to rank for...the best thing is you check each of those sites and find ways to link back from them so you get into this "circle of trust" yourself. That's one use of it, imho.

I'm sure someone somewhere is feverishly working on that very thing.

It just makes things clearer seeing it all laid out.

IMHO organic is going to soon be the keyword.

Create original, useful, up-to-date content and you will succeed.

From listening to a lot of Google folks the thing that it boils down to over and over is giving people what they are searching for and transparency of advertising.

I freakin love this tool! It's my new favorite thing.

I think people are getting this confused with some sort of SEO
        tool.

This isn't showing you how to rank in Google and these aren't
        link wheels.

This tool shows you related sites based on your keyword. If you
look closely most of the sites aren't linking to each other therefore
they're not link wheels just related site. For example...

Now we know for sure that articlecity.com and articlebase.com
etc aren't linking to ezinearticles however they are related sites
        which is why they're connected.

Also if you do a search for any other keyword you'll find the surrounding
sites aren't actually linking to the main hub but are just similar or related
        sites.

I think the people that made this tool are trying to create a new
way of searching in Google where it's easy to access related sites
        and information.

That's why it's called Touch Graph : Google Browser

        Not

        Touch Graph SEO Tool

Also it says right next to the tool "Google's database of related sites."

Yes just related sites, not link wheels.

This is not an SEO tool, just another way of searching Google.

        Will

Interesting...but until we figure out how to use these to our advantage, it will remain as 'interesting'.

Also, Amitywill nailed it by saying it's not linkwheels: they are simply related sites.

Yes, but this means the same thing essentially. Yep, the graph does NOT mean the sites are *linking* to each other, but it shows Google's understanding of what sites are related in a context.

And with SEO it is ALL about relevancy. You want links from related sites, those are the sites which count and which will boost your SERPs!

You ask Google: "Hey google, which site is relevant to my site? Or which site is relevant to this site which ranks so well for this keyword? Or which sites do you think are relevant for "dog training"?

Now tell me this has no value for SEO?

From that point of view...maybe it doesn't display ACTUAL link wheels, but it does not HAVE to.

If i enter "dog training" into the tool i will see the relevant sites, and we can already assume that the sites have links and authority (otherwise Google wouldn't even come up with the sites in the first place and the tool wouldnt show the site(s)) . So what we see is the RESULT of backlinks and their established authority...this is already one step further as opposed to simply displaying links back and forth. Thats how i see it.

I see it the same way.

I know it is not a link wheel, but it provides me the perfect strategy on what my link wheel should look like to easily rank for a particular keyword.

If you could somehow link to all the sites shown in the graph, that alone would get you ranking pretty well.

Here's a little experiment I did to see if this tool could do anything for me.

I setup a brand new blog about 24 hours ago now focusing on a niche(non-IM).

Used only a few of the sites that the tool shows to be relative to the keyword phrase to interact with. I used a two word key phrase.

This mid-morning I cranked up the computer and checked my stats. I was indexed and Google had already sent 4 organic searches to the site. So that's in less than 24 hours, doing far less than I normaly do to start off a brand new blog.

Oh...and get this...I set it up as a subdomain and totally unrelated to anything else that I've done on the server.

So...I would say that this tool has some value. I'm going to keep playing with it to see how far I can take it.

Ahh, you opened up my eyes George!

But still gotta say, the tool is STILL rather confusing to use, but if like what they had mention it is still not open to the public, then that explains a lot.

If this tool actually access Google's database for websites of similar relevance, then indeed this is very very useful.

You can easily make a product/WSO with this..

I think some people are expecting someone to hold their hand and walk them through "101 ways you can use this tool to make money now!" or something. If it's too confusing, overwhelming, gigantic, unfathomable, incomprehensible, or whatever... Just take the time to play with it. You'd be surprised. Click all the different buttons and controls to see what they do. Make it easier to read by zooming out/expanding, going full screen, etc.

Anyway, here's my 3 cents on this... in my first 5 minutes of playing with this thing, I found a bunch of new great affiliate programs that I didn't even know existed in my niche.

I plugged in the URL for the top authority site in my niche (it's a pretty broad niche) into the tool, and started messing around, going through some of the related/linked sites that were showing up.

Before I knew it, I stumbled upon at least 3 companies with professional websites, unique products & services, offering affiliate programs that I anticipate will get very good response from my website and list in that niche, so I am in the process of researching and implementing them now.

There's so many other ways to use this thing, it's very interesting. As some others said, I'll have to set aside some time just to play with it and take notes... there's so much more that can be done with it.

Yeah, this has been around for about 5 years. It's not necessarily an indication of rankings or structur but rather identifies "authority sites" that are related for any given keyword.

The connecting lines do not represent links but similiarity. So does the color.

To add on, I just found out google has this nifty function (that this tool probably used to find relevant sites too).

Basically, you can easily find relevant sites to any site just by typing in the command:

    relevant:www.anysitehere.com

Pardon me if this is well known - just thought I would share.

However, unlike the visual tool, this query returns only sites that DO have backlinks to your site, so I am not sure if it is a relevancy query...at least all of my results had backlinks to my site.
