Why Mortgage Related Niche Is Sooo Difficult To Rank High?

I have a mortgage related site, which I launched in July last year.
I like the niche and see big potential there also for an internet marketer.

With my other sites and blogs I have succeeded to rank very good
with several keyphrases, but not with this.

My main promotion tool are the articles ( like with my other site ),
which rank pretty well, but not the site.
I wonder if there is some magic in that niche, which I don`t understand.

Tell me, here is the site: http://www.ReverseMortgageEarnings.com

It is very important for you to go for complete processes that will be beneficial for your niche to get rank on the top of SERPS.

Also, only writing and submitting articles will not help, try to put link there so that to allow visitors to visit by this your site will get traffic and at the same time it will get rank on the top of search results.

Mortgage related niches can get rank well on the top very easily by putting some little efforts and quality work.

If you require any sort of help related to the processes than please do let us know and you can also visit our signatures for any details about the processes.

    Thanks!

Mortgage keyterms are about the most competitive around. You need to dig deep into the longtail and work hard building.

      Exactamundo.

If you check out the adwords cost per ad for mortgage related terms they are skyhigh, which is an indication of the type of money that folks are willing to pay to get visitors.

Note also that the CPC for keywords in Google's keyword tool is also indicative of their profitability....people are always willing to pay more for keywords that convert.

I know and therefore I have used long tail ones only in articles
and as anchor texts, when using Angela`s links.

It's just extremely competitive. Most financial services and products are that way. (insurance, stock brokers, banking, etc.)

You could do long tail keywords but the conflicting issue is that those don't have much volume so it may not be worth it....depends on your goals.

well, actually there are low and high demand search terms.
I even bought a keyword software called "Micro Niche Finder"
which promises to find out search terms with good demand but
      low competition.

One thing there is, which I don`t understand, why mortgage niche
is difficult, if the key figures are the same than in the "internet home business" -
      niche, for instance.

Could the reason be in the on-page SEO??

There are only a finite amount of terms to do with "reverse mortgage" in general, but if you start adding in locations (reverse mortgage in denver) you have tons. I am in your market and have success making individual pages for each location, example :
    http://www.ReverseMortgageEarnings.c...-in-denver.php

Here is an example search where all the tops results are second level links :
    Google

    Hope this helps.

I have multiple mortgage websites and yes it is tough. But the best advice I could give you is to go regional, city, state, etc. Much less competition and much easier to rank. But again, the down fall is that there is not as many searches for these.

However, I personally don't care as I am only licensed in Oregon. So getting traffic from other parts of the nation is useless.

Thanks Matt but I want to keep this site national.

I have seen many new sites, which rank high also in the mortgage niche.

I even asked advice from Josh Spaulding, who is a successful online pioneer,
and who has a mortgage site,
and his advice was that there is basically no difference with mortgage - related
market, because our markets are formed by the search terms.

Many writers here seem to think, that if the AdWords price is high
the ranking chances are low, because of the tough competition.

But the high search engine ranking and the AdWords prices are different things.

So I still see the situation so, that I will rank high and the development just got new power
        the rankings are growing.

Keep looking for those longtail keywords to try and rank for.

I know when i tried the mortgage niche and any high competition niche infact, i found just getting traffic via forum posting, blog commenting, article marketing, yahoo answers etc etc was alot better than concentrating seo.

Might be worth focusing on traffic rather than rankings for now as it can be a longterm strategy too.

      Thanks Mark,

I already do most of your list: optimized article with anchor texts in hyperlinks, blog commenting ( not so often ) with anchor text in the link, forum posting. So SEO is like an additional credit, because all those mediums will raise the ranking.

By the way, I think I found a solution to my problem:
I visited Google webmaster tools- section and added my site there
and made Google to visit it.

After two days my site was ranked pretty well on 5 long tail keyword
result pages and it seems that the increase will continue.

The niche is among the top paying keywords by Adsense. What this bring forward is the fact that more and more users try their hands on this niche as the OP did. Furthermore, getting into top page of Google with keyword mortgage is almost an impossible job.

What you can do is go for a keyword research, aim for long tailed keyword and maybe try to optimize your site rankings on that keyword, which again is a tough job. Good luck!

The mortgage niche is very tough to rank for because of the competition. Additionally niches like, mortgages, loans, credit cards and credit repair are flagged by google for possible spam blogs and these niches also have a tougher sandbox.

Mortgage niche is tough, simply because it is truly one of the most competitive out there. I worked as a loan officer for a while and we heard at the time when the market was great that companies paid $50-$100 for a warm lead.

I'm guessing your other niche's were never that competitive.

Perhaps pick a region and try for mortgage Atlanta...or whatever.

I do very well in the Mortgage and Financial Niche.

The key is you have to localize all your campaigns down to the city and State an farther if possible with Long Tail Keywords.

Look at your competition and make sure your landing pages and ads set you apart from them!

      Hope this helps

One of the problems that you start getting into when localizing is that some localized Niches like Attorneys will have this : ' Local business results for attorneys near Los Angeles, CA,'
And they will least 7 or 8 law firms that are permaently there on the first page of Google.

Not sure if this applies to all KW in the Mortgage but I know it does for things like Mortgage Bankers, Mortgage Lenders etc...

I myself am pursuing the Mortgage Niche with a sub-Niche that I wont divulge. Its ultra competitive but pays incredibly high CPC !! Its a long term investment and I plan to see major results in about 3 to 5 years of consistent work.

Remember just a few Clicks a day will mean some big payouts.
Just think LONG TERM with these Niches and you will do fine !!

I don`t fully agree, because the number of Google searches is high
and the Adwords prices for the used long tail keywords are high.

So there is not a market problem but a ranking problem.

All of us know that prices for the real estates are increasing rapidly in each and every country. Its really hard to buy a home in this situation. So in the same way companies are offering the loans for those who are willing for homes. In this situation since we have the lot of companies offering loans in all the continents, this niche has been really competitive now. So its hard to find the higher SERP for this niche.

Answer is simple i think. It is highly paid niche. So lots of people enter in to it. Finally what happens the competition get high. But if we do proper keyword analysis some times we will be able to find some long tail keywords which has less competition but has some average search volume. We can target such a keyword to get some rankings.

If we choose blindly, then we will not get any results.

You have chosen about the most difficult thing to rank for.

Hell, I do a little PPC in this niche and I bid up around $8 a click just to get a trickle of traffic. Hugely competitive.

From point of my view because many companies provide thousand dollar to hire SEO professional or SEO company to rank their website. So the competition is very though and if the companies can't provide some bugdet to rank well their website they will bid on adword to buy traffic. So the best choice is long tail keyword.

It's the HARDEST sector to rank for. Lending tree has 46 million back links.

You have to have 20 or so blog style sites updating constantly and pointing links at your site. But use city name phrases in your keywords.

That is true, the big companies ( in my case big banks ) have enormous amount of links.

But there are no big companies in my niches, because I follow the
niche marketing idea and have selected niches, where the number of
daily searches is moderate ( from 1.500 to 2500 approximately,
        Google Keyword Tool ).

When I researched these niches, most pages on the first page were from
private entrepreneurs ( sites or blogs ) or articles from directories
        like EzineArticles or IdeaMarketers etc.

I think one of my challengies is, that I just have to write more pages
and to get more high pr backlinks to be able to rank high.

Your point of tough competition is fair.
