I was always under the impression that blending ADs
too much is not allowed by google as it draws users attention to mistakenly click on an AD thinking it is part of the contents.

Example:
Look at the site below:

Search Results - Asterpix Searchlight

I found myself very hard to recognize ADs with contents especially at the end of the page, that is even for me, now what about typical users ?

So the main question is; is this kind of blending allowed by Google?

    I don't see any problem on blending ads as long as your ad does not mixed with content... blended ads should always at least a small distinction from the actual content...

      As long as you show ads separately there is no problem. Only thing is user must be able to know he is visiting an ad.

        Well, the link I provided above has the issues you both mentioned;

        The site has mixed the ads with the contents also there is no much separation between ads and contents as far as I can see and yes a user may click on an ad without knowing it is actually an ad as you can see ads are completely looks part of the contents.

        So is that mean a NO for such kind of tricks ?

          Google's policy s hard to determine if which is which so you better make it a little bit clean... That placement is included on "adsense blackhat" ebook.. LOL

    I think there is no problem would arise from google, and it won't be a policy violation. According to the policy, ad should be customized to the appearance of the website, if it is policy violation, then why should google give us customization option while we get the code from adsense setup?

    The actual thing is, there should be no difference between ads and main link, then only the genuine clicks will be made, other wise the user will recognize ads and link. Google is smart, if no much clicks is generated from your site, your site may be banned due to poor click through rate, without fraudulent tactics, you may do anything regarding adsense ad block setup.
